Catherine home near kilimanjaro international airport JRO

Host picked us from the airport at 3am (waited for us for 1 1/2 hours!) The family is so friendly, we had dinner with them! The place is safe and close to the airport. Catherine organized drivers to the hot springs and the busstation The kids are really cute and like to interact with visitors.

Friendly host. Good food. Clean and confortable place. When my driver canceled the early pick up for next day, she drove me to the airport.

Stayed here for one night with a late check out, before heading back home the following evening. Great place to stay if you need to be close to the airport. Catherine was an amazing host, very welcoming and warm and introduced me to her family, we also had some insightful conversations, which was a nice touch. Catherine’s home was spotlessly clean and beautiful, the bed was big and comfortable, very cozy space. There was a fan which was great. I was also pretty sick and Catherine has made me some lovely ginger tea with honey upon my request for my arrival which I will be eternally thankful for! I had a lovely stay at Catherine’s Home, Asante sana! :)

A spotless house in a modest but very safe and welcoming neighborhood, at convenient distance from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Catherine is very sweet and caring with her guests, she surprised us serving dinner in the evening (unexpectedly, and free of charge), was kind and dedicated enough to wake up at 6am so I could have breakfast before taking my morning flight, and arranged a cheap (5-6 USD) transfer to the airport with a trusted tuk-tuk driver. She can also be friendly and chatty (if you show interest): we spent some time together in the evening and she shared many interesting perspectives on daily life in Tanzania and how it is changing over time. Catherine is resourceful and hard-working, has a beautiful family and takes hosting very seriously. I would warmly recommend spending the night here, it is a great option. The rooms are perfectly adequate and equipped with mosquito nets. The shared toilet is of the squat type but with a flush mechanism, and kept very tidy at all times. There is a kitchen guests can use, along with all other common areas of the premises.

Wifi availability would have been nice as a plus, but I wasn't expecting that, and for 1 night I was perfectly fine without. I honestly have no complaints at all: it was a very pleasant stay and it worked out perfectly for me. I wish Catherine best of luck and all the success and gratification that she deserves.

Great assistance from the host from arrival and also departure. The host was super welcoming and always ready to help whenever possible.

Our flight out of JRO was early and so we wanted to stay close to the airport. Catherine's place is perfect for this. She was very friendly and helpful, instructed TukTuk-drivers, organised transfer to the airport and much more. Dinner with the family was great and we also had a quick breakfast though our flight was early. Everything is very clean. Value for money is perfect! We can recommend and would book with Catherines place again!

The muezin was calling for prayer at about 5 am. Not a touristic environment and this would be the same in the other towns as well.
