Cannot beat the location. Last hotel on the end of the point. Closest to the surf. Everything was clean and beds were comfortable. Everything I could ask for during a surf trip in Chicama. Elias looks over the property and serves an excellent clean and simple breakfast. Very kind and interesting man. It was a pleasure. Very receptive staff. Junior kept an open line of communication before and after my stay to make sure everything was well. Great stay and great value.

The drains in the shower are small and don’t drain well when showering. Minor flaw in design.

Staff were friendly and helpful, Junior reached out in advance to help us plan how to get there and booked us a taxi and on our last day we left at 6am and Elias got up early to make us breakfast at 5.30am!

They tried to charge us 20 Soles a day to use the kitchen even though it’s advertised as a shared kitchen included in the price you pay when you book…after some discussion they let us use it for free but they need to change this on booking.com! Breakfast was cold most days but there is a microwave to heat things up if you want to.

Perfect location, in front of the wave, comfortable room and space for boards and stuff, the staff is lovely , Junior and Don, they give you recommendations about tends, shops, boards...

Carry money on cash to Puerto Mal Abrigo, there is no ATM in the neighbors.

I enjoyed everything about my stay here. The name Family Surf isn't just a name. Everyone made me feel like family there. Junior reached out to me in advance and made sure anything I needed before I arrived, was taken care of. Transportation, surfboard rental, and boat drivers. HES THE MAN!! I had breakfast ready for me whenever I was ready for it. Elias and Ceasar, were there to answer every question and point me in the right direction of anywhere I needed to go. I already can't wait to return. An amazing place. Highly recommend
