North Lagoon Dakhla Kitesurf Spot

The lagoon is beautiful, at walking distance. The food was very good, and the chef clearly knows what they’re doing. Most of the staff were warm and welcoming. Kitesurfing classes and rental were reasonably priced, and the kite manager genuinely tried to help — I appreciated the effort, even if the approach sometimes felt intrusive, more on this on the negative review.

I’ve never written a negative review before, but I’ve also never felt so uncomfortable at a hotel. Before arriving, I sent several messages to confirm our shuttle — it took almost 48 hours to get a reply. The phone number listed on Booking.com was incorrect, and no one picked up the number on Google either. We only managed to reach someone by manually trying the number on WhatsApp. When we arrived, the room was disappointing. While the bathroom looked clean, basic things like glasses and taps had clearly not been cleaned properly. The light in the room was blinking, and we had to ask for it to be replaced. One night, there was no running water. Another night, there was a loud party on the property until 1 AM, which made it impossible to rest. The location is not as advertised — while it’s technically by the lagoon, there’s a road separating the hotel from the water, which you can’t see in the pictures. There’s no proper beach setup to relax or sunbathe. The so-called beach bar is actually in the middle of a parking lot — far from a relaxing beach vibe. Meals are served at fixed times: breakfast at 8:30, lunch at 14:00, and dinner at 21:30. The food itself was very good, and the chef clearly knows what they’re doing — it’s just unfortunate that lunch and dinner is served so late every night with no flexibility. The staff were generally welcoming and kind, but the management made me feel uncomfortable throughout the stay. I was repeatedly told how to behave — including comments about my facial expression and even remarks about what I was doing on my phone. It felt invasive and patronising. I just wanted to be left in peace, and instead I felt watched and bossed around. This place has potential — the surroundings are beautiful, and most of the team is kind — but the lack of professionalism and boundaries made it a very unpleasant stay. I left feeling more stressed than when I arrived.

I struggle to express the generosity of hospitality at Nurt Lagoon and the kindness and dedication in serving customers, making you feel at home. The staff is truly ideal, respectful, and devoted to their work, giving their best to satisfy you. I’m talking about Mr. Bashir, the epitome of generosity and beautiful stories, as well as the master of desert tea, who treated us multiple times in various places with everything needed—utensils, a desert setting, and without any fatigue or boredom. He added to the beauty of the place with an enjoyable atmosphere that you never tire of. Then there's Naila, the young girl who prepares the tastiest breakfast with skill and finesse. Though young, she excels in her accomplishments and dedicated service, showing great respect while spreading joy and happiness with her cheerful conversations and laughter that fills the space. And I can't forget Soufiane, the quick, helpful, cheerful assistant who is always there to help with whatever you need, as well as Laila, who was the first to greet us and took us from the airport and back. She describes the place and the city, suggesting everything you could think of regarding activities and enjoyment. I also can't forget the most delicious dishes and their unforgettable taste.

The location was incredible with a great spirit around sport and friendships ! The hotel is like a small village where everyone becomes friends!

Located in the lagoon before Dakhla has a very large opening and view of the beautiful landscape. The staff responsive and friendly. The food and service were very good.

Our stay at North Lagoon was exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. The property is absolutely charming, with breathtaking views of the lagoon. The hotel restaurant was a highlight of our visit, serving delicious Moroccan cuisine. Another standout feature was the kiteboarding school, our lessons were so much fun. I strongly recommend!

The (local) food is delicious, the kitesurfing equipment is new, the tent I had was very typical and overlooking the lagoon, little extra: the windows allow you to see outside but you can’t see inside the tent. All the staff is super smiling and attentive to ensure you have an exceptional stay
