We stayed at Sandolien, one of the houses at Oorlofkloof Mountain Retreat near Montagu, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The house is beautifully and comfortably furnished, with fast Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of thoughtful touches. It feels luxurious yet completely unpretentious. The location is stunning – tucked away in the mountains with absolute silence and breathtaking views in every direction. Right from the house you have direct access to well-marked hiking trails that wind through the fynbos and along the kloof. After a day of walking, the private terrace with its braai and plunge pool was pure bliss – the ideal spot for sundowners and stargazing. Our host was incredibly warm, friendly and helpful, always available if we needed anything but never intrusive. Everything felt perfectly looked after. If you’re looking for a quiet, nature-filled getaway with a touch of luxury and total privacy, Oorlofkloof (and especially Sandolien) is hard to beat.

Great location. Not too far from Montague, but remote and quiet. Fantastic bird life

The only negative was that the river hiking trail was a bit overgrown. Would have been ok if we had the right bushwhacking clothes I guess.

Le cottage est bien équipé, moderne et spacieux. L’endroit est calme, juste les chants des oiseaux. Plein de routes de promenade au départ du cottage. La propriétaire est au petit soin pour ses hôtes. Merci pour le séjour.
