EL Homestay Bunaken

We had 4 pleasant nights. Stephen and missi are really nice. She cooks really well different meals every day. Breakfast with pancakes and topping (jam, chocolate hazelnut,etc) and fruits will make a good start for your day. Room is big and quite new. You have space to hang staff. You have a fan (which was enough for us) and AC if you need The house is quiet and near where the public boat leaves/arrives so no additionnal fee. Stephen can help you with different tours at non excessive prices. Tell him as soon as you arrive (or even before) if you want to do one of the tour so you can make a group with other guests and decrease the price. We did with one of his family a snorkeling tour where many turtles and nice corals live. A good memory, no need to feed them like they do for tourist in some other places. we also made a group with a couple of the homestay for a Dolphins/snorkeling tour which was great. In between we snorkel by ourselves and enjoy the island and its people

The only thing was ants. We had everyday colonies in our room

It was a really pleasant place to stay in bunaken, 2min walking to the beach. Stephen was a really nice host, always smiling and happy to recommend places to visit. Rooms are big and confortable, meals are delicious and diversified.

Nothing

We give 10 in all categories because this lovely guest house is like to be at home...far away of home. Stephen and his family makes everything in order that you feel happy and enjoy Bunaken. And his aunt is (imho) the best cooker that que found in all Sulawesi after three weeks travelling. Each fish at lunch and dinner has been special and tasty. Terima kashi!

Missi and Stefen are excellent hosts always ready to help

Excellent value for money, but none of the homestays have real places to chill comfortably. Fine for diving though 👌

We spent five nights at El Homestay as a group of four friends. Before arriving in Bunaken, I thought it would be too much time there, but once we arrived at El Homestay, we didn't want to leave.... It has been amazing staying here and experiencing Bunaken. There is a lot to do: snorkeling, diving, dolphins, sandbank, mangroves, visiting Siladen Island, hiking, renting a motorbike, and visiting the viewpoint. We can't wait to be back next year. Thank you Stefen + Family!

This was without a doubt the best homestay we have experienced in two years of traveling through Asia. Stefen has been an incredible help with everything we needed and organized for us one of the best tours of our lives: the dolphins, Nain Island sandbank, and Siladen snorkeling tour. It's been two weeks since we left his homestay, and we still think daily of our time there. We would love to go back as soon as possible. The food was delicious and very healthy.

The family is super friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic, we ate super delicious fish dishes. The island is of course great for diving and snorkeling, and beautiful sunsets. Surely book your stay with El Homestay, it will not disappoint you ;)

Excellent food, lots of fruit, good variety, different dishes every meal. Fish was very fresh and often accompanied by a photo of the actual fish. Stephen and Missi made us feel like part of the family. Stephen arranged for car and boat transportation from the airport and later to Tangkoko. Also for a snorkeling boat. Very attentive and interested in our welfare.
