The Traveller Kandy

The place is located in a pleasant area near Kandy and the owner gave me good advice on what is the best way to reach it, by the local bus. The room was charming, spacious and clean and the wifi was a nice bonus. I am planning to stay here again for longer next time.

Value for money. Modern rooms. Views from the balcony were quite nice.

There were so many miscommunications between the owner who lived away from the property and the caretaker who lived on site, which was a bit annoying. Toilets weren’t the cleanest. Advice for those coming via vehicle - there is a very steep slope to the property that all vehicles may not be able to get up.

Amazing place! I instantly felt at home and could have moved in right away…the room is stylish, clean and super spacious with a lot of options to put your stuff and details like the kitchen that just make it so much more comfortable. The view on the Knuckles is amazing! The owner is currently in Europe but his lovely father is taking care of everything and makes you feel very welcome. I actually came back a second time and will come back again if I’m in the area. Thank you for everything!

Nothing to complain, it was just perfect!

The room is very cozy and we really appreciated the effort it was put in making it so cozy and nice. The room is simple but it has everything you need and it is spacious. The check in was made by the host's father who was extremely nice and accomodating. The room has a very nice terrace from which you can enjoy a very nice view. The entrance of the house has a small kitchen that has the essentials for having a coffee or a tea, making some toast and else. In its simplicity it is a very hidden and conenient gem.

Unfortunately the internet was not working and despite asking to top it up we did not have it available. Maybe just some lost in translation but it added up to the fact that we asked for some towels and never really had some. We did not insist too much as we wanted to go out and had our own towel we brought for emergency and I am sure by reminding the host we will eventually had some available. All considered, minor things but can make teh difference when travelling

Location is marvelous

Location was great, its little bit far away from the city centre, but if you are looking for really quiet place in the nature, its the right place for you. The place was super nice, interesting open concept with bathroom (no doors) and really big teracce with amazing views on the river, mountain and the part of the city.

We didnt like the mosquitos and ants (but they are everywhere in Sri Lanka, so it was not the big issue). The father of the property owner brought us some kind of stuff to resolve the mosquito problem, he was very kind. He even gave us fresh mangos from his garden, and it was very juicy and delicious.
