Happy Feet Diyaluma

- Polite and helpful staff - Decently clean room - Nice blankets - Good bathroom - Tasty breakfast

- English speaking abilities of the staff - Amount of meat in food (we asked for extra meat and got 1 chicken leg each) - In a room for 3 people with a double bed and a single bed on a top deck, there was no ventilator for the top deck, so my friend had to throw the matress down and sleep on the floor next to the double bed

The room was great value for money. Hot water was perfect and bed was comfortable. The best part of this place was Chathumal Who was very accommodating when we arrived, we were a little late and he stayed up to welcome us. The breakfast made by his mum was authentic and delicious. We were here to visit the falls and Chathumal Offered to be our guide. He was incredible and got us to all the spots right before the tourist rush so our photos were brilliant!

Just like the pictures! Everything is very new and clean. Hot water shower, comfy bed. Excellent mosquito nets with elastic edging. Very friendly and helpful host. Nice dining and seating area outside the rooms. Good size breakfast which set us up for the day. A couple of local cafes for food or the host can also bring you something if ordered beforehand. WiFi works well in rooms. Easy parking outside. This is a ideal base for exploring the Waterfalls, if you drive up to Poonagala you can easily walk the Upper trek - about 20 minutes to the top falls. This is a hidden gem of a guesthouse - definitely stay here if you can. The surprise of this place was the incredible jungle views!

Nothing - We had our own tuktuk so could travel on to the falls easily, however you could also get to here and then the host could arrange a tuk to the falls trek. The road up the mountain from Wellawaya is slow and quite rough so allow enough time and possibly don't do it in the dark. At the lower waterfall on the road everyone will try to stop you and offer 'waterfall guide' so be prepared, you can easily walk the top trek yourself.

Truly amazing hosts, very helpful and caring. The location was great for our hike up the diyaluma falls. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and plenty. We also had a great dinner from the hosts for 750 rs per person for a large portion of vegetarian rice & curry. Additionally, you have a stunning view from your room and the dining table over the mountains.

Sadly we had some problems with ants in our room and the bed, but the hosts were straight away helping us out, tried to get clean it properly and spray something to keep them away from our bed.

The host was really nice and helpful! So friendly and the welcoming was the best! The room is clean and spacious (as on the photos), there is hot water with good pressure.

Our host was fantastic. He went above and beyond all expectations. Friendly and charming. My partner's shoes fell apart and we asked if they knew where we could get them fixed, next thing we knew they were fixed at no charge. It was my birthday and they gave me a cake and celebrated with us, all in all was very touching and would wholeheartedly recommend Happy Feet.

Beautiful view into the jungle, very clean and comfortable rooms, tasty breakfast, walking distance to the waterfalls. Really recommend.
