Lovely host,phenomenal facilities..

The location is fantastic the appartment is good but as for it being clean it is a hygiene heath hazard . It was absolutely filthy and ended up going to friends to use there shower facilities . If you book this place then be prepared for a filthy and very dated apartment.

The fridge had black mould on seal, shower head was filthy and shower mat . The was out of food items dated BBF 2024. outside lounger dirty with green mildew on it . Chipped crockery , sink in kitchen filthy ,and when reported host said 2 lots of cleaning staff had cleaned and checked before our arrival and had passed it as clean . Well I myself would give these cleaners there cards as it is appalling there. Plus bed very uncomfortable, we were booked in for 5 nights left early and only slept there one night that was enought to endure .

I loved this place! Sonia the host was easy to communicate with and very helpful and kind. The apartment was spacious with a separate living area and bedroom and courtyard garden, perfect for food and drinks. The apartment is well presented and right next to the Duomo and close to the southern end of Via Fillungo. I only stayed one night in Lucca but wish I'd stayed for a few days at il giardino segreto!

Inside the city wall and close to the train station, near the Duomo, Sonia's place is a shortish walk to everywhere within the walls, cafe outside front door. Sonia's recommendations for eating out were spot on. Lucca is the jewel of the area slow paced without the big crowds other major centres have.

I would have to be excessively picky to fault.
