The Hacienda Lovina

The view was exceptional and the Villa is a quite place. Perfect for us as Family, looking for a private pool in a relaxing atmoshere. Highly recommend

-Property : Was nice and lovely. Nice and quiet locality. One thing we would have appreciated was a guide on which roads to take. The roads we had to take were very dangerous. While we were there a guest in some other villa died as he fell down the cliff. Ketut gave us guidance on roads after we arrived. Carers: Ayuk was an excellent cook, food was prepared timely. Some of her food was even better than the local restaraunts. Ketut was such a blessing to have. We arrived at the property at 2 am in the night and Ketut was still there waiting and had prepared food for us. Was always there to help. Roads were really bad and we almost fell off a cliff, our car was stopped by a wooden post damaging the front bumper. Ketut even helped us repair the car , hiring a mechanic and making sure the car was repaired to mint condition. We really miss him even now. Next time we come to Bali we will 100% book the same villa just because of Ketut and Ayuk 😁

No guidance on which roads to be taken for guests. Some roads were so dangerous that one guest in another villa died after he fell down a cliff. Request the owner to give a short guidance on what roads to avoid.

I am writing my review unwillingly. I wish I can say I have great memories from this place. Instead, I’d rather forget about it sooner rather than later. My wife and I arrived at the property late and exhausted. The villa has two staff members on site between 8 am and 4 pm. One of them named Ketut was waiting for us at 21:00 that day. He was polite but spoke very poor English which left me wondering how are we going to communicate. Couple of observations left us puzzled straightaway. He insisted we should take photographs of our passports and text those to him. We firmly refused. He then suggested that if we feel unsafe in such a big and isolated villa, he could organise 24 hours security for certain fee. We refused politely. At day light the next morning we were impressed by the positive of this property. This is a huge decently furnished place with a great few facing north. If you bring a proper spotting scope , every morning you can observe the poor dolphins being chased by countless boats in the name of the cash. The living area combined with the covered veranda on the second floor is 150 m2 approximately. Four bedrooms , 8.5 m long swimming pool. If you are devoted swimmer, bring a harness. I found swimming in place works. The garden is OK. Now the negative. Not a single door can be closed in the orthodox sense of it. There are no proper handles. If you need privacy, you have to lock yourself. On the second day we detected unpleasant smell in our ensuite shower. It progressively got worse turning into a stench. Interestingly, it did not seem to bother the staff members. On the 3rd day the drain in the shower got blocked . We tried the other bathrooms on the ground floor, same result. Unfortunately the hiccup coincided with the election day in Indonesia. Nobody works! Eventually Ketut arrived and managed to rescue us somehow. Another day we are in a car exploring west Bali.

The view, the pool, the rooms, the beds - all amazing. The helpful smiling Deta and Ketut. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The meals we had cooked by Deta were excellent. She is such a lovely human. Ketut arranged a lot of things for us and was very considerate and polite.

Need to have bedside lamps and larger coffee mugs.

The bathroom of the master upstairs was very smelly, and we could not fill the bathtub. I had a bath downstairs.
