Sigiri Birds Hostel

I highly recommend this hostel! The hosts were so nice, very helpful, full of good recommandations. I would come back here anytime and for a few more days because it was so nice. Felt like home with this lovely family! The food was also very good and we were able to see how to make a curry with the host which was really fun :)

The room was perfekt with a big comfy bed and a nice bathroom. I loved the place because it was quiet and peaceful bit you are in a few minutes in the centre where you can eat. Every sightseeing is in walking distance and its the perfect place to take a walk and enjoy the day. The family was super lovely and nice, could‘nt ask for more. It felt like a little SriLanka Home. They will also help you with everything and show you around places. Was one of my best stays while travelling!

The location is very central for everything. The host and his family as extremely kind and helpful. They offered me so many things! The real Sri Lankan welcome!

I loved the small family who owns it! They gave very good and honest tips for any attractions in sigiriya! Very lovely kindhearted people!!

I didn’t have a blanket but it was hot anyway

This hostel is definitely worth it. It is run by a young family and they do their absolute best to make your time worth while. You pay for what you get so the room is basic but suits your needs. There’s one ceiling fan to cover the four beds. It covered my bed very good but that’s something to be mindful about. The bathroom is big and very clean. The owner showed me a lot of Sigiriya even places you don’t see when you’re not a local ;) so that was a huge plus for me. It’s also possible to have dinner at the house which was really good and not expensive at all, so definitely try if you have the chance. I had a lovely time.

My hosts, Nimeshika & Nuwan were lovely. Nimeshika cooked lunch and dinner for me and it was wonderful. There was plenty of food and it was delicious. Nuwan took me everywhere in his TukTuk, which was very handy. The room was perfect and the facilities were great. I enjoyed my stay very much. Thank you!

I stayed here for 4 nights and ı definitely recommend. They helped me about transportation, laundry, trips.. The breakfast was included, ıt was really good and the portions are really big. The owner of the place and especially her wife they’re really friendly. I was not even going out for dinner, ı was eating at the hostel(she cooks). It feels like a homestay. I’m really happy that ı stayed here on my Sigiriya time.

The room is hot but you can use fan.

The hostel itself is beautiful and very peaceful. Nice breakfast served!

I was the only one staying which made the contact to the owner a bit too focused on me.

It was great value for money! The hosts were extremely nice and came to pick me off when I got off the bus from Colombo and they also dropped me off at the local bus stop to go into Dambulla. On the first night I arrived, I had dinner in the hostel which was amazing and I also had breakfast included in my booking which I can definitely recommend. It is a very new hostel which meant that everything was really clean! The hostel is about a 20 minute walk from the bottom of Sigiriya rock and it only takes 15 minutes to get to the part of town with many cute restaurants and souvenir stores (on your way there you will even pass lots of other restaurants)

There was unfortunately no AC which meant that it was quite warm in the night even though we were only 2 people in the room.
