Slemish Barn Hostel

Lovely couple, had a massive storm come through and let me stay for most of the day to be safe. Even made me lunch. Very homely and comfortable, lovely people, and very cheap as accomodation goes in ireland.

Accommodation. The atmosphere was really nice and relaxing, having full use of the facilities it was like having a home for a home. Our kids loved it there and had alot of fun especially playing on the Piano. Owners. The owners were really lovely, friendly & accommodating couple, who always had wood for the fire and food in the kitchen. Sharing with others. This was a new experience for our kids sharing Accommodation with other families and to be honest it went amazingly well, my kids are N.Irish, we met two other families an English & French family. it was nice seeing all the kids run around playing with each other even with the language barriers it was lovely seeing them not having a care in the world other than playing, having fun & trying to teach each other their own languages. Location. me personally I loved the location in the middle of nowhere peaceful and quiet - but the roads to and from can be a bit hazardous if you don't know the area when the fog closes in and the roads can be bumpy.

A warm welcome and I was made to feel at home. The accommodation was very homely and I spent the evening in front of the wood burning stove, reading and feeling very relaxed. The bed was super comfortable and the surroundings very peaceful - I had an excellent night's sleep. A simple breakfast was included and tea/coffee making facilities were available.

Nothing. My stay was perfect.

It was cosy and staff was very friendly and helpful. I especially appreciate all the help I got when my car wouldn’t start in the morning. They went above and beyond to get me the help I needed.

I loved this place. Quirky and comfortable and relaxing. Clean enough but clearly a shared accommodation type deal. The owners were amazing and very welcoming. Well kitted out with something new to see in every corner, inside and out. The fireplace and multitude of books made my stay. Will be back.

Would have preferred being able to fully turn off the security lights in my room.
