Mountbatten Bungalow- Thema Collection

Superb location and outstanding staff who were very responsive and friendly. Beautiful food for dinner served outdoors which increased the experience. Very approachable Manager who was able to resolve a particular situation for me.

The Bungalow room i experienced on our first night was depressing. There are no windows in the room and i felt like i was in a cell….even bars on the small bathroom window. There was natural light in the main part of the room. There needs to be a major renovation of this room to bring it to World class luxury standard.

The food was wonderful- mostly from the garden of the hotel. We stayed in a suite which was like going back in time. The staff were super nice.

A bit of a long windy road to get there but worth it

It was a delight to stay two nights at this idyllic hotel with a sense of history. Our chalet bungalow set in the grounds was modern and peaceful. The main building offered a glimpse of old British colonial history and was very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and the staff very attentive. The beautiful grounds were very well maintained and were very restful. An extremely enjoyable stay to be highly recommended.

Nothing at all to dislike.

The hotel area is very picturesque with great views. If the weather is good enough to eat outside it’s a lovely setting. We stayed in one of the garden chalets which we really enjoyed, and it was very clean.

We were quite disappointed with the quality of the food. We tried both the non-Sri Lankan meals and Sri Lankan meals but neither of these were as good as the food we’d had in other (much cheaper) hotels. The breakfast was also quite poor quality. Considering this was the most expensive hotel of our trip in Sri Lanka, we expected much better. We ended up eating elsewhere for lunches and dinners after we realised this.
