Lehani Beach Hostel

Probably my favorite hostel I‘ve ever stayed at mostly because of the huge beachfront terrace & and the friendly, family like vibe. We prolonged our stay here since we liked it so much. Nothing beats falling asleep to the sound of the ocean.

If I have to mention something, some of the kitchen gear were quite old and not fully functioning anymore. But since there was a lot of gear and the kitchen was big it didn‘t matter to much.

The best hostel I’ve ever been in the world!! Spectacular location just right on the beach with a beautiful open space kitchen and terrace area. It’s super cleaned, well kept and comfortable. Just 5 minutes walk from town and always felt super safe. We ended up staying longer and meeting a bunch of amazing new friends there! James, Ria Eugenia and all the staff are wonderful and ready to help you!

Lovely location on the beach but close to the centre. Room was big and comfortable. The communal areas are basic but well equipped and the staff were helpful.

I was supposed to stay 5 days, ended up staying 3 weeks! The location is perfect next by the beach, such a great community & social vibe with other travelers and also the owners make this place feel like home! Perfect place for remote work with great internet and good places to work from. Clean rooms and I will definitely come back to Lehani in the future 10/10 recommend!

The best hostel I’ve ever stayed,it didn’t even feel like a hostel, it felt like home, Lehani beach hostel exceeded my expectations, right on the beach, and the view is breathtaking, the staff is very friendly, they go beyond to make you feel at home, we didn’t have any issues, concerns during our stay, we even wanted to stay longer but we already had another trip planned.Definitely coming back. Plus there are a lot of activities to do around so you never get bored

Das Lehani Beach Hostel ist ein absoluter Traum! Die Lage direkt am Strand ist perfekt – man hört das Meer schon beim Einschlafen und kann morgens beim Frühstück auf der Terrasse Wale in der Saison vorbeiziehen sehen. 🐋 Die Stimmung ist total familiär und entspannt, man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an wie zu Hause. Ob beim gemeinsamen Kochen, am Pool oder einfach beim Chillen in der Hängematte – hier kommt man super leicht mit anderen Reisenden ins Gespräch. Alles ist sauber, gepflegt und liebevoll gestaltet. Ein wunderschöner Ort, um Tofo zu genießen, neue Leute kennenzulernen und einfach das Leben am Meer zu spüren. Ich war sehr gerne dort und bin traurig, dass ich den Ort verlassen musste.

Lehani is the best hostel I've been to, and I can't wait to go back. The setting is breathtaking, with direct access to the beach and a clear view of the bay. Seeing whales breaching while enjoying morning coffee, going for an impromptu swim or surf, or just strolling down the beach were all regular parts of my day. Beyond that, the rooms and communal areas are clean and well maintained, the shower was perfect (heat and water pressure), and clean drinking water is always available. Ria and James are doing an amazing job of creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming, friendly, and respectful hostel environment. Whenever I wanted peace and quiet, I could easily find a spot to relax or do some work. Similarly, there were many opportunities to join activities with the others -- making dinner together, playing cards, exploring the area, and even going on a catamaran day trip up the coast. They also go out of their way to ensure guests know what's going on in the town, and are able to make the most of their time in Tofo. 11/10 would recommend in a heartbeat.

While the entire experience was amazing, the wifi sometimes struggled with video conferencing. That said, it was fine for general browsing or streaming, and there are a few coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance with suitable wifi for meetings.
