That I couldn’t stay longer!

The hostel is in San Cristobal city center, perfect for exploring. I was in a dorm, and it was confortable and clean. La Puerta Vieja is the best place if you're a solo traveller, because it organises lots of activities and the social life is great! During my stay, I was able to participate in the Temazcal, a traditional Mexican sauna, and the hostel has its own, plus I was also taking part in a salsa class, where we had lots of fun. Receptionists and workers in the hostel were so lovely, and they took care of all my questions, and they created a lovely environment where guests feel part of it from the beginning. Plus, breakfast was included, and I could choose between 3 different plates, sweet or savory. Totally recommended, I'll come back for sure!

Everything was great, nothing to add: in case you have light sleep, maybe it's better to reserve a private room, of course, dormitories can be a bit noisy, but it's part of hostel's life in my opinion.

Hospedarme en puerta vieja fue la mejor experiencia. Desde que llegué el staff me hizo sentir como en casa. (Felipe y Diana, gracias por toda la buena onda). Pase una noche de buena fiesta y probé el mejor mojito en el bar del hostel a cargo de Timo! Y por último la joya de la corona “El Temazcal” , algo único en México (gracias al shaman Alex por la ceremonia). Sin dudas, volvería siempre a quedarme en el puerta!

Very social hostel with a lot of activities. I was in a room far away from the common area and we had no noise from there at night (there were some street sounds). Cheap tours as well. We got big lockers (outside of the room though). Very helpful en cheerful staff. Great common rooms

Food didn’t taste good and portion sizes for dinner were quite small most nights. Showers were really cold. A bit of a walk to the bathrooms from the room

Best hostel I have stayed at. You must stay here. Facilities amazing and staff brilliant. Do not stay anywhere else! Breakfast and dinner very cheap, communal areas are lovely and it is social without being too loud.

Maybe don’t drink the water

Tolles Hostel

Unser Zimmer ging auf die Hauptstrasse, wodurch es nachts sehr laut war. Wenn man dringend schlafen muss, ist es nicht geeignet.
