"Charming off-grid cottage with the best views in midlands."

Expansive views across the midlands to the Drakensberg. Relaxed farm vibe, friendly dogs, curious cows. Beautiful rustic aesthetic in decor, artworks and furnishings.

We loved everything -- even though it's a bit off the beaten track, the dirt roads were good, and while the cottage is simple, it had all the basics you need for a comfortable stay. There's no wifi but cellphone reception is great.

The view was unbelievable! , super super Cosy cottage has everything you need ...lovely fire place, braai facilities, gas hob...shower was amazing! Woke up to beautiful cows just outside the window and the sun peaking through Hosts are lovely and friendly! Would definitely be back in the future If you're looking for a peaceful get away this is the one, and so much to do around the area if you're keen to drive and explore.

The driveway is quite steep but we made it up with a hyundai i20 (1.2) so not the off road type car but it definitely made it up, like they said keep the revs high and you're good!

"Overall we had a good stay and enjoyed the views and fireplace."

The view was phenomenal. Very cozy place with a lovely fireplace. We took a hike up to the top of the hill and enjoyed the endless views from up there. The cottage itself was quaint and comfortable.

The cottage is a bit too closely situated to the owner's house, and their dogs come into the cottage if you let them. We wanted to get away from it all and having the owners and staff and pets come driving / strolling past while sitting on the stoep was not ideal for us. The cottage is not serviced which didn't bug us, but for the price you pay you might expect someone coming in to make beds and wash dishes. Also, there was no braai available to us when we arrived even though it states there is one at the cottage, the owner did bring one after we asked though. There are also no electric blankets but the duvets were warm enough. The fridge is also very old and tiny and doesn't hold a lot, and also doesn't keep groceries cold enough. Thankfully it was a cold weekend so that took care of that.
