Hotel Sabareesh Plaza

The only good thing about this place is the closeness to the Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple. It is such a pleasure that it is directly across.

On arrival. The elderly man at reception was very abrupt. He said, go see...if you like the room we must take it, or leave it kinda thing. But you already booked over such a busy period where else can you go look at that time. We tried Gopuram Grand but they were full. There is no parking available from the hotel, the temple offers paid parking but that needs to be paid for. We asked if they could assist with bringing out bags, and were abruptly told, if we help you will pay the helper.... I mean it's common sense. The cleaning staff consistently ask for tips for cleaning ...Nd we did give .. but should they not be paid for their services by the hotel. It's not professional to ask. My booking was confirmed on booking.com with my credit card, but they do not accept visa, master card or what they called international card payments... So again we had to run around for cash to make a payment. The elderly man did not know how to use the card machine, and when I wanted to show him again he abruptly said no. Sigh..... The rooms are always dusty and dirty, even after they clean it. Our bedding was brownish, our towels were brownish. It's just not fit to be a hotel for international guests. After paying, the elderly man told us about there being no hot water available. I suggest to bookings.com to remove them. The reviews were so good but it was all lies. Or put in a request to increase the cleanliness and staff mannerisms. As I think it will be a good hotel.

ROOM TOILET WAS CONGESTED

Toilet should be little spacious. EVEN TELEVISION WAS NOT WORKING. SUBSCRIPTION WAS NOT PAID AND EVEN AFTER INFORMING NO RESPONSE?

Near to temple
