Room had no iron. When I requested one from house keeping it was provided promptly. However, without an ironing board. When I asked if one could be provided, I was told that the hotel did NOT possess an ironing board. I quickly rang reception front desk and spoke with the front desk manager. She confirmed the Roots Hotel Apartment 15th Lane Osu had no said ironing board. Unwilling to improvise I insisted on an ironing board. It was provided. Thanks. Management of Roots. From the abrasive greeting my the owner/manager of Christmas day on the Roof Top Terrace. I experienced a dislikable bottled wine that was over priced and below standard for a hotel of this calibre. Whilst the rebuttal by the waitress, although not fully accepted on my part, was fair and polite, the offer later by a man at the bar to 'buy me a drink' which I declined turned out to be an attempt by the manager/owner to passify my dislike for the poor quality wine I had been survived. When I instead suggested a conversation, this request was met with bemusement. Lastly, on leaving Roots Apartments Hotel I was delayed by almost 1 hour. I was telephoned and advised that my time was up. I proceeded to pack, tidy the room and depart. Upon leaving the hotel, I had a taxi waiting, I was accosted by REDDER the hotel manager. A different one on this occasion. He was blunt and rude and insistent that I would now pay a late penalty charge. At first I was surprised, as at no point had this supposed policy, as He put it, been brought to my attention. I was mortified, having told Him that I would place my bags in the pre-booked taxi before addressing the issue, that He REDDER, proceeded to follow me outside and continue to accost me. Whilst he was not threatening His manner was abrubt and unprofessional. I paid the $13 surcharge. I believe that the matter should have been handled differently.

I love this hotel. The staff is truly amazing, a great balance of helpful and friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and charming. I love the coffee shop downstairs and the rooftop bar.
