Excellent food as we had ordered vegan breakfast and it was delicious 😋

We booked Broadoaks as my hubby was competing in the Great North Swim and was close by. Room was lovely. Everything you need for an overnight stay and a fabulous shower. We paid for breakfast and were offered a "grab and go" bacon/sausage bun as it was an early start for us. Fantastic. We'll be back next year.

We arrived early before check in and spoke to the lady on reception. We had looked at the restaurant menu online and decided to go into the village. We were not aware of the guest menu for 4 courses including a bottle of wine as we would have booked a table when checking in

Our room was very nice and we loved the spa bath.

I told it’s my husband’s birthday. I booked that hotel as treat for him. No birthday surprise was there in room. Hotel must do little extra either chocolate or maroon with happy birthday message or any nice thing for nice gesture would be nice. Never mind it’s just feedback

Restuarant closed, no explanation was disappointing, We arrived at 2.45 so sat on terrace with a couple of other arrivals not expecting to check in until 3. No staff around, except there was one man, I assumed manager who made no attempt to engage or talk to anybody in fact ignore all of us was rude in my opinion. Not the gtreeting one usually gets in fact he hardly spoke when we saw him on reception the next day. Manners cost nothing, to be polite to guests is a fundamental part of hospitality surely. Thank fully the Girl that arrived on reception and the breakfast waiter were both engaging and very polite.

Comfortable cabin

My ‘room’ was a cabin at the bottom of the hotel driveway. No chef’s on site for dinner even though I had rung on booking to reserve a table Couldnt have any breakfast as chef doesn’t start work until 8am, unfortunately I had to leave to go to my own work for 7.45am. When I tried to explain to staff, I was told to use the corner bath jacuzzi and relax. I tried that and the jacuzzi function doesnt work - no bubbles for me! TV needs logins to Netflix, Iplayer, ITV X etc - without them, you can’t access anything. Couldn’t check out as main door to hotel was locked at 7.45am so I had no way of getting to hotel reception. I left the room key on the outside windowsill and hoped for the best! No idea what I’ve have done if there had been an emergency in the night, I didnt even know the hotel door was locked - yet I was placed at the bottom of the driveway. None of this information was available on booking, on the hotel website or booking.com
