Headrow Apartments The Mezzanine

Location

Hairs in shower, on bed in bath. Cobwebs in corner and no electricity for two hours this morning trapping clothes in washing machine. Discussed with landlord after about an hour. This lead to checking out late, explained this to house keeper, she then walked in without announcement 10 minutes later and descended into calling me a black English bas**** and to go f my mother and die. All in front of an 8 month old baby. Because I didn’t appreciate her walking in and glaring at me like I stole from her! Then landlord messages me saying my details have been passed to the police. It’s attitudes like this that perpetuate current tensions and xenophobia. Wouldn’t stay again for free.

The location.

Sofa bed wasn't a sofa bed and just a small badly stained sofa. No pillows, duvet or bedding for supposed sofa bed. Broken remote control so no TV. No towels. Rang them and reported it when i got there, when i rang back to chase up they didnt answer. Very nearly changed to another hotel but didn't want to throw more money away.

Location was good,

It wasn’t the same room as advertised, wasn’t advised until arrival. Was left without electric and then woken when it came on suddenly at 4am

Great location

Had to call host to get into the property. To be told no pets even tho it clearly stated pets allowed and I’d messaged about it on booking. Then had to pay extra surcharge. Flat had a terrible smell, not very clean and had to call again for extra sheets. Black mold in areas and very noisy at night. Terrible view from windows.

The location was good

There were no towels provided, and I only received a message about this on the day of my trip and was already travelling to the property at the time. I could hear when people flushed the loo upstairs throughout the night (I think the waste pipe was in the corner of the bedroom) and there is also a glass bottle recycling bin outside the window, which must be used by local bars because it was v noisy. I also didn't find the bathroom very clean. There was lots of dust on the towel rail for example. Finally, the property is advertised as having a lift but this only takes you to the first floor, but then there's a flight of steps to climb, which wasn't super practical for me. I would have accepted a lot of these flaws if the property wasn't advertised as a luxury flat! I think the apartment is poor value for money and there are much better options in the city. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
