Lovely, helpful staff who couldn’t do enough for us, whether it was from Check-in to breakfast! Special shout out for Mahendra who was super kind. Fantastic location for Thamel, Old Town or airport. So comfortable and worth the extra money for comfort after a long trek!

Hotel Barahi in Kathmandu is a 5‑star property with clean rooms and a clean restaurant. The breakfast buffet is okay: you can get fresh omelettes, and the selection of bread and pastries is decent. The restaurant itself is quite small and feels a bit cramped for the number of guests. The rooms are comfortable and simply furnished; the furniture is a bit older but still in good condition. The hotel is busy, with many guests and local visitors passing through, but the lobby is very small and not really suitable for a 5‑star hotel. We wanted to extend our stay, but were told this was not possible, so we had to book another hotel for the remaining days until our flight. Payment was only accepted by credit card; the receptionist even refused our 20‑euro notes, which felt strange and unprofessional. The pool is small and the area around it is very tight, so there is hardly any space to sit and relax. Overall, the price is reasonable, but with a larger lobby, better payment options and a bit more space in the restaurant and pool area, this hotel could truly feel like a proper 5‑star experience.

The hotel was very good. It's rare to find such a wide breakfast selection in a place. The roof terrace is wonderful. Nice pool with a view of the city.
