Pearl House

Lieve oudere eigenaren in een mooi landhuis. Goede kamer en een terras met uitzicht over de stad. Tequila en ik bleven een week en werden een beetje deel van de familie. Tequila heeft de vrouw des huizes nog een middag breiles gegeven. Verder alle hulp bij dingen regelen.

We wisten het van te voren, maar het huis ligt aan het einde van een steile weg omhoog. Dus soms een zweterige aankomst (of een tuktuk)

Of all our stays in Sri Lanka, this one was the most memorable. Situated on the hill overlooking Kandy, it has a beautiful view of the valley. It is located right next to the well-known (now closed) Hill Top Hotel, which makes it very easy to order a taxi or TukTuk and telling them where to go. The owners are an older couple that make splendid Sri Lankan breakfast, that will liven up your breakfast with stories of Sri Lanka and Kandy. Don’t expect a 3 star hotel, but quality for money this was perfect for us. We’ve already recommended it to friends and would come again if we’re ever in the neighbourhood.

The final road from Hill Top Hotel to Pearl House is narrow and steep, and allows little room for a taxi to turn after dropping you off. Though letting them drop you off at the top and walking the last 50m is perfectly doable.

Beautiful house with stunning views over Kandy. Appreciated the use of a small kitchen area with fridge and extra crockery and utensils were provided on request. Room comfortable, clean and spacious. Hosts very welcoming and lovely to chat to. We originally booked just one night but stayed for two.

Rather steep path down to centre of Kandy, but easy enough to get a tuk tuk back up the hill. Spiral staircase leading to upper floor might be a bit awkward for some.

La struttura è lontano dal caos di Kandy, ma per arrivare a piedi bisogna fare una strada in salita, il tuk tuk che ci ha portati ha avuto difficoltà a salire. Qualità prezzo ok, la camera ha tutto l’essenziale ed il signore che ci ha accolto è stato molto gentile.

La colazione è costata quanto la stanza

Alles, die Lage, das Zimmer, die Möglichkeit selber einen Tee oder Kaffee zu machen, oder den Kühlschrank zu nutzen. Ich kann die Unterkunft sehr weiterempfehlen!
