Tairua Garden Hideaway - Homestay with Private Room

The location is very handy. Within a short distance there is an abundance of shops, eateries and everything you need. The place is easy to find and parking on site is safe. It's a lovely garden arrangement with the cute chickens and the basic cabins on site. The cabins can be quite chilly, but I am comfortable with the cold and can handle cooler temperatures without having much insulation or bedding, so this was not an issue for me personally. But I could see the average person struggling during the NZ colder months.

Unfortunately, there was poo from the owner's pets on the veranda deck and around the driveway-entrance. I didn't like the fact that I had to watch every step while carrying items in and out or had to focus on my feet when I went out in the night for a pee.

Dogs were so cute! Really nice little cabin in the garden, easy access to bathroom & outdoor cooking.

Shower window was a bit intimidating but also pretty!

This place was perfect for my son and I to relax after lots of hiking and driving. The host gave us a warm and informative welcome on our arrivial, and then left us to do our own thing. The cabin was small, comfortable and well set up. The back deck was a lovely shady place for reading, cooking and eaiting. I loved the bathroom / loo setup in the main house - the dinosaur decor and fantastic shower. The garden is divine, with great places to hang out. With the host's encouragement I ate a delicious apple off the tree. Great to have the cafe / bakery and food vans across the street also

Very well located right across from food carts coffee and excellent value for money.

Going back and forth to the house to go to the toilet was a bit of a pain. That said I knew what I was getting into.
