Kareem Syariah Hostel Bukittinggi

Central location - 2 minutes walking to the main Square, cafes and restaurants and landmarks. The hostel is new and clean, the rooms have only one bed, and the shared bathrooms on the corridor. There's a table with free tea and coffee on the corridor. The stuff is very friendly and helpful even though they speak little English. They helped me with a taxi to Padang at an incredible low price (I wouldn't have gotten this with any travel agency). Internet is very fast and good. The best place I stayed in Sumatra so far.

wifi: caution as observed real issues upstairs vs 1F with speedtest.net at 1% of 1F on other floors. was offered to move 1F but ideally, network is fixed. Receptionists kind and caring but limited english, help of online translation and not much tours or advice for backpacker travel no kitchen, fridge or microwave not hotel related, but with ramadhan, options for breakfast and lunch were very limited, mostly bakery, mart and a single food stall opened at nearby mall makan plaza (takeaway only)
