Room 1 / wunderbare Ausstattung, sogar mit europäischen Steckdosen, welche genügend vorhanden waren. Hervorragendes Essen mit Abwechslung. Ein Koch mit Leidenschaft und freundliches Personal.

Etwas kompliziert wann Wasser oder Kaffe nun inkl. ist und wann dafür bezahlt werden muss. 😉 Aber nicht weiter schlimm.

The food was amazing.

Le cadre et l’endroit sont vraiment exceptionnels. Le personnel était super et nous avons passé un agréable moment au Désert Homestead Lodge.

Such a beautiful location and beautiful Lodges. Particularly like the waterhole in front of the lodge where we saw oryx, hyena, springbok and jackal.

The site is beautiful and serene, and the hotel is located in a nice area.

I find the hotel extremely overpriced for what it offers. A set dinner is served every night, but there are no choices — if the meal is lamb chops, that’s what everyone eats. They could easily offer a small buffet with grilled meats and sausages, as many other lodges do. Breakfast was also disappointing — no sausages or bacon, and overall very limited options for a hotel charging €300 per night. That’s simply not acceptable for the price. When we arrived, we were told that our 5-year-old child had to pay, even though the booking clearly stated children stay free. The receptionist said she would check with management and get back to us, but she never did. At checkout, we were told we had to pay an extra €70 per night for our child, bringing the total to €370 per night — outrageous for the service received. On a positive note, the staff were friendly, and when I fell ill, the manager kindly gave me some medicine — a thoughtful gesture I appreciated. Still, I cannot recommend paying this price for the level of service offered. I’ve stayed in smaller lodges that provided buffets and thoughtful touches for half the cost.

We had a great stay at this lodge. We arrived very early and had to wait until our rooms where ready and we could see how in detail they clean the whole lodge every day! Really great! So everything is not only very clean but in great condition. Also very beautifully equipped. Staff was super friendly and helpful, pool area nice with view to a small waterhole where we could watch some oryx drinking. Same view from our room and balcony. Dinner was amazing!

Only minor thing: When we checked in they mentioned that it is possible to go horse riding, after we wanted to book, they said its not possible on that day as no guide is available. However later I saw a group of people on horses.
