Good location, very comfortable bed, friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Clean, comfortable, spacious room, good breakfast, helpful friendly staff, fridge in room. Seemed newly refurbished. Excellent value

Slightly further out than I had calculated; lock on my room door (13) was really tricky going in to the room (took several goes and even when it worked I had to push hard)

It has the comfort, breakfast and location of hotels/airbnbs that charge vastly more. Add in the friendliness of the Ukrainian team that run it and a really decent British breakfast and it’s absolutely my ‘go to’ place to stay in Canterbury

Very friendly, helpful staff. Good location, close to city centre with good local amenities. Good value for money, equivalent to budget chain prices but with breakfast included.

Stayed for 2 nights. First night got no sleep due to persistent noise in (central heating?) pipes. As there are no staff on duty overnight, couldn't resolve until next day. Was given an alternative, quiet room for second night. Have stayed at the Black Horse several times when visiting family. This was the first time we had a problem, and I was impressed with how quickly it was resolved.

Easy check-in. Breakfast is nice and quiet location with short walk to Canterbury West train station and town centre.

The basement room is a bit damp and smells due to lack of ventilation.
