Family house in happy farm

Filthy. Wifi didn’t work. Power socket in bathroom didn’t work. I ended up leaving.

People were friendly

I was helping at a camp at Chosen Valley and didn't want to travel back to West Auck in the evening and following morn so it was a short distance for me to sleep the night. I only slept the night then left in the morn so didnt use the facilities apart from the shower which was fine.

There should be grading done like in restaurants for places to be approved before being allowed to provide accommodation and make money. If there was this system in place this place would absolutely fail and not be allowed to accommodate anyone. I requested a refund the next morning after staying. I was told I should've told them and they could've put me in another room or got the house keeping to clean or something. The housekeeping should've already been at a hygienic standard prior to anyone arriving. I also told them I can't predict having spiders crawling on me at 2am and that I doubt they would've appreciated a call at that hour. I even said I'd be happy to receive only half my money back. Needless to say i didn't hear back from them after my message in response to them saying I should've told them before staying about the dirtiness etc and no refund in full or partial was offered. No apologies no nothing from the host. I requested a refund as I was woken around 2am with 2 big daddy long leg spiders crawling on me and a web being woven over my face and above my head up towards the roof. This made me get up and actually take a closer look at my room. Noticing that the floor wasn't vacuumed, little bit of rubbish under my bed and spiders in each corner of the room. Maybe I should've looked harder before falling asleep and staying the night as i had walked into a cobweb gong into the bathroom. I found a broom and did a quick sweep of cobwebs in the bathroom and toilet. I had stayed here before and commented about it not having the attention to detail on the cleaning side of things. However this time it was dirtier. I did not sleep in the bed as the linen looked questionable if it was clean or not and I had my own pillow and blanket. The beds aren't comfortable. The kitchen had dirty dishes left there which I cleaned coz "house keeping" just left them. The place needs a good water blast and deep clean
