"Just wonderful!"

very friendly reception, good location to stay over on a trip to Jhb or Cape Town. Beautiful accommodation, great decor, bedding, fully equipped for self catering. Electric bedding for cold Karoo wintery nights. Pretty garden with water feature

"Tranquil and comfortable stay in the Karoo"

We loved the tranquil setting which was perfect for an overnight stay. We had a small barbecue and the facilities were great. Ordered a braai pack which included salad and delicious ciabatta.

There were too many stray cats.

I had a wonderful stay at this guestfarm! The rooms were comfortable and welcoming, and the host was exceptionally hospitable. I opted for dinner, and it was a real treat; the lamb pie was absolutely brilliant, full of flavor, and very good value for money. Highly recommended for a cozy and enjoyable stay or overnight rest.

"Good food, good night’s sleep, friendly host."

Anneke made us feel very welcome. We had an excellent home cooked meal. She offered freezer space for us to use. Although it was very cold, the wood burning stove and electric blankets provided a warm night. Thank you!

"Absolute gem in the Karoo!"

My time at South Merino was amazing!! It is conveniently located next to the N1 10 minutes from Richmond and perfectly safe. The hostess, Anneke, is superfriendly and her dinners are delicious (I tried the lamb pie and the chicken roti's). I've never seen the stars so bright and I could even see the Milky Way. I will be back on my next road trip!

Very stylish and modern, but comfortable. Very nice meal prepared for us with friendly, helpful hosts. Nice warm beds in the cold weather.
