The family that runs the homestay is just amazing! The cooking from the mother, all the help and advice from the father, the hike with the son and the cuteness of the daughter; it was great!

Je logeert bij de mensen in huis. We hebben ons nergens zo welkom en thuis gevoeld. Het hele gezin doet enorm zijn best om je verblijf nog beter te maken. We hebben meerdere tours gedaan met de eigenaar en zijn zoon. Dit een enorme aanrader. De kamer was groot met een eigen balkon. Het ligt niet heel centraal maar ze willen je overal naar toe brengen. Wat je zeker moet doen is bij hun avond eten. Dit was het beste wat wij in Sri Lanka hebben geproefd. Voor het eten en de mensen zouden wij al terug gaan. Het voelt echt als familie. Dus zeker een dikke aanrader

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this place. At first, the family seemed warm and welcoming, but after a while, it felt more like a staged show than genuine hospitality. The father, who acted as our guide, was more of a taxi driver than an actual guide. We had agreed on a price for a daytour (important for us as budget travelers), even double-checked during the tour, but were still charged more in the end (12k instead of 10k). While he started off talkative, later on, he ignored our questions because he was tired, we suppose. Meals were tasty but again relatively expensive. If you stay here, you are expected to book a tour with either the father or son. These tours are costly options. There’s also no private sitting area; you only have a bedroom with a bathroom. On the positive side, the place was clean, the children speak good English, and the city itself is beautiful. We recommend visiting Bluefields and perhaps the waterfall nearby. Still, given the lack of space to relax and the extra costs added on top of the stay, this place did not meet our expectations. The accommodation may be cheap, but everything else quickly adds up.

The homestay family was kind and the breakfast was delicious.

The weather may have gotten colder because of the rain, but it was very cold when I slept. The water pressure in the bathroom wasn't good, and the towel wasn't replaced for two nights. The worst thing was that the pickup service and tour service had two people, so I got paid by doubling them all. It was a trip with my family. I just paid for it because I didn't want to ruin my feelings. I want to go to Sri Lanka next time, but for this reason, I want to pass Nuwara Elijah.

Sehr liebevolles und sauberes Zimmer. Die Gastgeber waren hilfsbereit und äußerst freundlich. Der Gastgeber steht für ein bisschen Geld auch als Fahrer bereit und am Abend wird auf Wunsch für die Geste gekocht. Wir bekamen ein wunderbares Curry. Ich kann die Unterkunft voll und ganz weiterempfehlen.
