Beautifully Designed Pollok House

Lovely house with the addition of some seating on the outside decking,.

Would have like some bigger and better quality pans as cooking the same meal for six had to be divided between pans, also just enough dinner plates, so if there had been 8 of us there wouldn't have been enough, also only 3 side plates, also couldnt see the Thermostat, and some more chairs outside enough for us all to sit together

Heating was a complete hit and miss, no plug for the bath. 1 bed had no wood slats on 1 side so if there had been more than 1 person in that bed they would of gone straight through. the renovation of the house is lovely but unfortunately the area really lets it down.

Lots of bedrooms, nice and quiet in the house. The booking.com listing said no washing machine available but there was one that worked great.

I have to say, there were a lot of basic things missing: No thermostat in the house so I had to turn the heating on and off manually by messing around with the boiler, there were oven trays but no oven gloves, all of the TV remotes had flat batteries. Lots of little things that would have made the stay much nicer. The insides of cupboards were also quite dirty.

We stayed here to be close to our family living in the area. The place is nicely decorated and the team managing the property are responsive.

We only really used the bathroom and bedrooms. Unfortunately those are the areas that we found hadn’t been cleaned to our standard (which we accept as high). We cleaned the bathroom ourselves to feel comfortable. The grouting in the bathroom and areas behind furniture need to be (deep) cleaned on occasion. One of the rooms has wall damp; and this is the overall smell in the house; I see now this was mentioned in other reviews. I also think the team should consider catering to parties of six (providing sufficient bric-a-brac, teabags, working clocks and even loo roll). If these matters can be addressed our stay would have been more enjoyable. Nice, but not quite a home.
