Everything about this place was incredible — it truly felt like a home away from home. Maria is an exceptional host. Her stories, her cooking, and the warmth with which she makes every guest feel at home are simply unmatched. From the hospitality and aesthetics to the design, location, and food — everything was a solid 10/10. Maria, thank you for making our vacation feel so special and effortless. We already can’t wait to come back.

Everything, we loved the setting, the design, Maria the host was a stand out as well as her lovely pets. Positioned very close to the lake with beautiful views. Maria helped us get a local tuktuk driver so took us to the beach and back in no time. The breakfast Maria made each morning was delicious using the freshest ingredients. Everything was modern, clean and aesthetically appealing pleasing with stunning jungles views and a beautiful swimming pool

Maro really exceeded our expectations. Everything was well considered - the design, the linens, the concept and especially Maria's breakfasts! I'd highly recommend staying here and will be back!

Sublime design, quiet and unobtrusive host

This has to be one of my most memorable stays from Booking.com. Maria (the owner) created this fabulous place, nestled in a quiet area of Ahangama, with such good taste. Everything is well thought of, and every detail contributes to creating this unique atmosphere in Maro Garden where you immediately feel at home. Just as in the pictures, it is really beautiful, and energetic, and the 4 rooms only of the property allow for a quiet environment. Also, Maria herself cooks a different breakfast menu everyday, that is so tasteful and original. She is always ready to have a good chat about anything, and she is such a joyful person. I would 200% stay here again, and can only recommend to anyone staying in Ahangama to stay at Maria’s Maro Garden! Thanks again Maria for making it so special!

We loved this place very much! Everything was just perfect and unforgettable --- the artistic and beautiful gardening, the stylish and clean room, the lovely pool and dining area, and, the wonderful Mariya :) Things are only beyond your expectation here, Mariya cooks amazing breakfast, with thoughtful design and a warm heart. The arrangements in the room are also very considerate, even with toothbrushes, shower sponge and slippers, which are not offered in general in SriLanka. We loved the plants of the garden, the lighting of the room, and specially, the wise & sweet conversation we had with Mariya. Highly recommended to everyone who is searching for uniqueness. Mariya and her aesthetic philosophy will not disappoint you in any aspect. And "feeling like home" is just a basic compliment to this place---- we felt impressed, refreshed, filled with good energy and enlightened by lovely humankind.
