Hotel Areca

The staff were really friendly and approachable. The location was good! Near SM Legazpi. The breakfast variety was authentic and it was okay, but there could have been more options.

The smell of the room is dusty and mouldy. I had to buy an air freshener to get rid of the smell. The water in the sink smells like it's coming from the sewage, it was a bit disgusting. I was told the hotel is newly builty, but the room seems like it hasn't been maintained well and properly. The bathroom is mouldy. The price I paid is a bit too much for how the room was presented and maintained.

The property is well located in the city of Legaspi, walking distance to provincial capitol, just beside the Albay cathedral. The hotel has enough parking space. Most rooms has a small veranda overlooking Mayon Volcano. Facilities are well comparable to 5 star hotel, fast wifi to all hotel area, TV has many local and international channels, green friendly toilettries. Breakfast is perfect if you love Filipino breakfast. The building looks new as it is well maintained, clean, from room to lobbies, restaurant and breakfast area. All staff as expected to Filipino culture always serves with a smile, courteous and attentive.

The room we stayed in has a small problem with the door as it does not close's automatically. There should be at least 24hour kitchen service to heat up your own food as they don't do room service for food to order.

Room was a bit small

Excllent breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Receptionist Mikee and bellman Norvin, were very helpful and a credit to the hotel. Although the room was a little on the small side, it was well appointed with all the amenities needed. Bathroom was clean and tidy with good toiletries. Shower worked well.

No elevator.

Breakfast was exceptional, sobrang sarap especially ang selection, worth the price and the coffee was superb.
