Fabrice and Julia were EXCELLENT hosts. I was there as a solo female traveler and was very comfortable. I went in March (the off/rainy season in Rwanda) so I was the only one in the hotel. The food and the service were outstanding. I had chicken mbarre and it was fresh and incredibly flavorful. They even arranged for breakfast at 6am so I could go to Volcanoes National Park, just a short drive away. Rooms were clean and had outlets and mosquito nets. My bathroom was a wet bath and had shower gel available.

That I didn't bring my friends with me for the great stay.

This hotel looks much better in person. Julia was freindly understanding and washed my all clothes for free after a mountain trek. The hotel is very African themed with masks and paintings decorating the walls. The rooms were spacious and simple yet appealing with a modern bathroom and outside wooden terrace. Julia cooked me a beautiful chicken curry and served me breakfast at 5am.

There was a storm.which knocked out the lights and WIFI temporarily, which couldn't be avoided i guess.

The place is simple but very comfortable, tastefully decorated, with a very comfortable bed and a very efficient shower. The staff were extremely nice and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and to help. For example they offered a complimentary great lemongrass tea when we were back from our excursion, cleaned our walking boots from mud, etc. We had the best dinner we had in Rwanda (including much more expensive places).

Just finished up from a 2 night stay at Urogano Virunga Palace and can’t say enough about the hospitality and how welcome we felt. Rooms were spotless and tidy, internet was good, bathrooms were clean and water warm, but the best part was by far the atmosphere. While in Rwanda we had some of the usual excursions and stops, but it was nice to have some downtime and playing cards while watching the birds in the garden amongst the beautiful tropical plants, or in front of the warm fireplace with cold beer were incredibly pleasant moments to enjoy a vacation. The staff were wonderful and always available to assist. Meals were home cooked in the kitchen on site on request and were delicious and accommodating from allergies to mealtimes. Laundry is also available - after hiking in the hills we honestly couldn’t believe how clean our shoes came out. Definitely somewhere I would recommend!

The lobby / front yard / communal area, was really nice. Looks like the accommodation has been newly built.

Don’t even know where to start. The staff looked like they want to cry when we arrived, someone should maybe break the news to them that a smile goes a long way in hospitality. The room was TINY and there was nothing “deluxe” about it. We actually just wanted to stay there to relax for a couple of days and make use of the bathtub, which gets announced as “the outstanding” feature of the room. And we didn’t expect much, just a hot bath and some quiet time. The “bathtub” is not a bathtub, not sure what it is: it has a sharply edged step in the middle so that you can neither sit, nor lie down in it. The hot water boiler fills this bathtub up to exactly 15 cm and then the hot water is done, there is no hot water anymore and there’s surely no bath possible in this place. The “outside terrace” of the room is a porch in the tiny backyard and the staff walks past at extremely close quarters every five minutes, because this is where they stay, too. Last but not least, you can’t close the curtains and the neighbour (whose house is 2 meters from your room shines a strong floodlight right on your bed all night).needless to say that it’s extremely noisy there, too.

Very friendly staff, who tried to accomodate all our needs. They even washed our car and our boots that were muddy from hiking, Food was very good. The place especially the outside area is very nicely designed.

You could hear the guests next door that were pretty loud. But the staff was trying to make sure that there was a period for resting.
