Cornerways Guest House

Checking in was very easy, they respond very fast and take care of you. We walked into the city (26min), super easy, super chill. We liked it a lot! And the parkingspace is easy with a small car.

The walls seem to be quite thin, because we heard every step of our neighbours (but they are not Walking all the time;)

Loved the place ❤️ Host was super nice and helpful!

We booked two apartments here, see our previous review. This room was a twin upstairs for our daughter and her friend for only one night. Everything was great!

Die Unterkunft war sauber. Alles ist gut beschrieben und bei Fragen waren die Gastgeberinnen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb des Stadtzentrums, man muss etwa 20-30 min zu Fuß rechnen, bis zum Bahnhof etwa 40 min. Das Pub in der Nähe (2min) ist sehr gut und in etwa 5 min erreicht man auch einen Tesco.

Das Wasser in der Dusche läuft ohne Druck, lange Haare zu waschen ist unmöglich. Es ist sehr hellhörig, man hört sowohl jeden Schritt auf der Treppe, als auch den Straßenverkehr.

It was very clean, which we liked. The facilities in the dinning room was good.

Only one bath mat was available and was very wet by the time we used the shower.

I booked this accommodation in a hurry because I was covering for another colleague at short notice. I didn't look into the finer details of the accommodation, so entirely missed that this was room only with no breakfast and a shared bathroom. In the event, this worked out fine as I barely encountered any other guests, even though all rooms were taken, and the owners Nat and Roksi were excellent with their comms. I particularly appreciated their reserving me one of the three spots outside the property at short notice. Cornerways is very clean and neatly appointed, and is located in a good spot, with the city centre a 20 minute walk away where parking from that point on INCREDIBLY difficult. I thought I knew something about the issues of parking in a city like Oxford after living in Cambridge for a few years but it is another level of difficulty to find a spot that isn't reserved solely for residents. So what I thought would be a short drive for breakfast before attending my meeting turned into a very stressful set of circuits of the streets off Abingdon Road (the traffic being exacerbated by major roadworks). I must say, though, once the meeting finished - a little earlier than expected - I thoroughly enjoyed exploring Oxford. It might even be a more attractive city than Cambridge. In short, I do recommend Cornerways to those travellers, perhaps couples, wanting a very convenient, clean, quiet and tidy base for a city break.

No breakfast - albeit there are decent facilities to make your own food in peace and quiet - and I didn't realise that the bathroom would be shared, HOWEVER this is entirely my fault for not reading the description properly.
