Cornerways Guest House

Cornerways Guest House was close enough to the center of Oxford, but yet just the right distance away to be peaceful from the bustle. It was nice to be able to park the car and have the option to walk or take the bus to town

Everything was self check in via links. And most younger people like this. But the owners do leave their phone number and email for any questions or concerns. And they responded quickly & kindly with my questions.

Loved this place, I felt like at home. My daughter and I stayed in the cosy room in the loft. It was small but enough for the 2 of us. Extremely clean and very comfortable beds and bedding. We enjoyed being able to store our food in the kichen fridge, and the conservatory was lovely. It is half an hour walk to the centre of Oxford or a 10 min bus with the bus stop just round the corner. If we return to Oxford, we will definitely stay there in the cosy room.

I liked the little room, snug space but enough, the bed was comfortable, the place was clean, so were the sheets and towels. Locking the doors with code is actually smart, we don't need to worry about the key. It was not working for the front door so we had to use a key hidden somewhere, but I suppose it works the rest of the time. It didn't feel very safe though.

The shower was placed in a very weird spot in the room, there was extremely low water pressure, to the point where it was a real struggle to take a shower. I can't imagine having to wash one's hair. The toilets were not raccorded to central plumbing (I don't remember the name of this system). The curtain was not covering the full width of the window, therefore it was really bright in the morning, this was particularly annoying, people need to sleep in dark rooms, that's the bare minimum. My room was really noisy. I think the room was placed just under a staircase so I could hear people going up and down until very late, and the walls are paper thin. You need to travel with your own shower gel and shampoo as the ones provided are really low quality, and mixed with water, it felt skimpy.

It's a nice little house, very clean and well accomodating. I would stay there again! The surroundings are very peaceful as well!

Quiet, clean, books and toilet trainer for toddler, very responsive host. Big thanks to Nat for going out of her way to bring us a screwdriver to use for our pram. Welcome snacks were very nice as well as the stocked kitchenette.

Everything was good

Alles vorhanden, unkompliziertes Einchecken, sogar Snacks waren vorhanden. Es war nur laut, wenn die anderen Gäste nach Hause kamen, die Straße war weniger laut, als von anderen Gästen berichtet.

Kein Wasserdruck in der Dusche/ Duschen war nicht möglich, geht leider gar nicht.

Great dining area and good location. 4 min to the centre by bus. Clean and comfy.

The family room we had was facing the road. Needed ear plugs to sleep - which were provided. Was not an issue, but might be for some.

Simple but functional room with private shower and toilet, which was welcome. I was surprised not to have a kettle in the room but there is a very nice common room downstairs with a terrace, where tea, coffee, cups, plates, kettle, microwave, fridge are provided so it was handy. The place was very clean - guests are asked to leave shoes at the entrance. Instructions to check in and for key etc were very clear and helpful.

The location is not near the city centre, a 10min bus ride but if you decide on walking it's a long 30min along a busy road. The place is as quiet as the other guests and unfortunately I was awakened by many doors slamming several times at the early hours. The shower in my room had a very feable pressure (washing my long hair was not an option!).
