"Long Term Guests Control This Hostel"

1.0

The location is good. There are many foreign restaurants and cafes near by.

I had a very uncomfortable experience at this hostel. It is very poorly managed, if it is managed at all. There is usually no one at the front desk, so they can’t keep track of who has checked in and paid. As a result, they harass guests by repeatedly asking if they have paid, even when they have. Recently, during a holiday, the hostel was left completely unattended. In my dorm, there were people sleeping in open bunks without any bedding, they long-term Indian guests were letting their friend in. I felt very uncomfortable seeing unfamiliar men in the beds above me who I knew weren't supposed to be there. There were also men sleeping downstairs on the sofa. Another reason I say the hostel is poorly managed is that the long-term Indian guests live in the dorms and essentially control them. I told the manager that rules need to be set so people know how to behave and not disturb others while they are sleeping. During my stay, I experienced constant disturbances because there are no rules or quiet hours. People were coming in at 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., turning on the lights, talking loudly on speakerphone, watching movies without headphones, and drinking alcohol. This happened every night. The room also reeked of body odor, as some long-term guests do not shower. When I reported these issues to the manager, she dismissed my concerns by saying, “It’s a dorm.” I explained that this is exactly why rules are necessary so people from different cultures and backgrounds understand expectations and respect others. The staff is not the most competent. They don't know how to run a business and take back control of it from their long-term guests. However, as I mentioned, the hostel is very poorly managed, so I did not expect much. In the end, they simply told me to check out because it’s a dorm and they do not enforce any rules.

"DO NOT STAY HERE"

1.0

Nothing.

If you want a quick summary: DO NOT STAY HERE. For the same money there are much better options. This place is a complete no-man’s-land. I stayed here for the first time in July 2025, in a private double room with bathroom. Back then I got a promotion: 3 nights for 40 USD. Everything was okay… except the WiFi, which had a pretty terrible signal. The real problem came when I stayed again on March 3, 2026—this time in a dorm bed. What a disaster! I was naive and thought the experience would be similar to the first time. Neutral points: the location is subjective depending on what you plan to do in Phnom Penh. This hotel is far from the main tourist attractions. Negative points: The rooms are dark. The bathrooms too. You’ll literally need your phone flashlight just to see anything on the bed. The WiFi is still absolute garbage. I thought that after six months they would have fixed it… nope. The hotel now has multiple WiFi networks, but of course they only give guests access to the one that doesn’t work at all. It’s genuinely bad—slow as a river of sh¡t. The bathrooms are disgusting. Nobody cleans them. There’s no toilet paper. People smoke inside. The showers are “separated” only by a curtain—literally nothing else. Filthy bathrooms, condoms lying outside the trash cans, completely revolting, full of mosquitoes, dark, water everywhere, you name it. The beds are never cleaned. And the “blanket” is just an XL towel, not an actual blanket. They don’t even give you a proper towel… or rather, they give you a towel pretending it’s a blanket. Oh, and the dorm beds have curtains… that still let you see the other guests perfectly—and they can see you. On top of that, the rooms are basically open to the street. Anyone can just walk in from outside. I checked out early because it was honestly unbearable. Don’t waste your money here: Terrible WiFi + revolting bathrooms + unclean beds… and it’s not even that it’s super cheap.
