Firbog Nook

We were in need for a place to stay for one night. We were on a tight budget and we found this place. We didn’t know what to expect but we were amazed by it. The place from the outside looks humble and small. But once you open the door, it’s charming and beautifully decorated, everything has its perfect place, everything clean and tidy. It was comfortable and safe. My partner is blind and the place was easy to navigate for him. We didn’t call it Firbog Nook, we called it Heaven Nook. The owner (Kate) aided us in our need, gave us a tour and explained how things worked. She provided us with snacks, coffee, tea, cereal and orange juice so we could have our little breakfast in the morning. She offered us a ride to the airport so we wouldn’t need to pay another taxi which was very appreciated as we are struggling financially and we were only in Ireland for 24 hrs. Kate didn’t feel like a host. She felt like a family member that truly cares for you. The place is beyond peaceful, you can hear the sheep singing their song and the wind was a pleasant lullaby to sleep with. Kate’s dog was friendly and super happy to say hello! And the view is astonishing there; Breathtaking, truly! I had never visited Ireland before and wasn’t sure I’d ever visit again, but to stay here and meet Kate has changed my mind. I look forward to coming here again and staying more than a night. It’s a perfect place to relax, to disconnect from the world, the worries, the technology and the hectic life. It’s the perfect place to read and write, to reboot and recharge. By the way, I’ve never slept better! For the first time I experienced true sleep and true rest. If I could, I’d move in here permanently because it is the perfect little Heaven Nook! I will be seeing you again Kate and Thank you so much for everything you did for us and for showing us such Kindness.

I would suggest to include in the add that visitors are advised to bring in groceries such as fruits, yogurt and maybe stuff to make a sandwich. We arrived very hungrily and didn’t have anything of that sort available near by. Thankfully, Kate provided phone numbers of places that do takeaways, which got us thinking “let’s try the just eat app” and got ourselves a pizza and a wrap to share. The place however is truly a perfect nook to stay at and I do recommend it.

Nice continental style breakfast. Peaceful and quiet. Lots of comfortable space. Easy to follow travel directions. Perfect for us.

Absolutely freezing miles away from anything stuck in the back garden it was a porter cabin not fit for humans I wouldn't leave a dog in there

Perfect for overnight stay! Guests at a wedding close by. The continental breakfast was a lovely touch!

The fact we were only booked for overnight stay and didn't get to make full use of the facilities. We will definitely book again!

Good facilities, most needs met. Breakfast provided.

Very hard to find! Suggest an obvious sign at gate!

Not quite as clean as could be lots of cobwebs and in daylight quite scruffy in place basically a portacabin
