Reggae paradise hostel

The staff are super lovely here, and they’ve created a really nice vibe where you meet a lot of other backpackers. Also loved the welcome drink - papaya and lime juice - and the banana pancake breakfast included. Great location walking distance to lion rock. They also organised a pretty affordable jeep safari for us.

Beds were pretty noisy and the bathroom was a bit far away and a bit lacking.

Staff and location

The location is good and I'm sure it would be a fun hostel if a good group of people are there.

Hostel was super loud at night with music but no one but staff outside listening to it. The beds and mosquito nets stank. And the shower/toilet facilities were pretty dire. I'm all for cheap and cheerful but this was uncomfortable it was so dirty.

Location wise excellent, food was good, washroom was clean and fine.

No AC hence it was super hot in the day time, mosquitos issues, bed were not that comfortable, food and water were expensive. Prefer to buy water from the super market.

I will miss this place. This family owned hostel has something magic. The atmosphere is very friendly and you fell like to be in a big family. The woman owner and her mother are so cute and the staff very helpful and amazingly friendly, they touch me how to play carrom, and gave me all the help I need to go around. The location is perfect, near to restaurants and bars and Lion Rock either! Breakfast so tasty with pancake or roti with fresh fruit. Has been a wonderful stay and I higly recommend it! Sigiriya is not Sigiriya without Raggae paradise hostel.

Super nice staff!

The room was not the best. The mosquito nets are kind of small so you can’t really use them and they stink. The bathroom is not really clean and there are snails in there. Also there where people outside listening to loud music until 2 am and since the room has small holes in there you can’t hear everything.

Good location. Offered a tuk tuk ride for fee to make most of time in the area.

If you’re not a smoker, I don’t recommend this hostel.
