Lodge Umusa

The place is idyllic, very beautiful. We loved the outdoor kitchen, really cool. The location is ideal, as it is super close to the permits office. The owner is great, he will give you all the tips for nice tours and what you can do on you own. He will also book the tours for you and they can be paid at the lodge, super convenient. They also have snorkling equipment. We were very grateful we stayed here.

Really great place to stay, fantastic value for money, lovely rooms but the highlight was the two great hosts. Phillip and Nicole went above and beyond, took a last minute booking, figured out a vegan menu option for us and even helped us with our onward travel as we were a bit stranded. In addition they were charming and friendly and we had a great evening of conversation with them. Plus, two sweet and attention loving dogs!

Be a bit careful with the sandy road to the property if you don’t have a 4x4.

Everything was good

Location and the family that runs the place is great. Wonderful people. We felt very welcome, nice vibe and nice bar area. Kitchen is well organized but a toaster was missing. Beds are comfy and the place was very clean.

Cabin we stayed in was spartan and a bit dark and building wise too rough on the edges. So don't expect luxury. But yes value for money is right.

Breakfast was good and their burgers excellent!!!

It was hot (weather) and the fans supplied only helped a bit

We loved the location, it was in close proximity to the estuary and Kosi mouth. The rustic feel is right up our alley so we enjoyed that type of setting, the pool was great to cool down in and the untouched jungle feel surrounded us daily.

Mosquitoes, but they are bearable and mosquito nets are provided in the chalets so we were protected.

Umusa Lodge is very nice and peaceful and not very far from Kosi Bay. The room and kitchen are clean and well furnished. The owners are super friendly and they cooked us delicious food (Philip's burgers are the best!). Also, they are available in helping guests in finding nice activities to do in the Bay area.

The room was not very clean and the breakfast was not that great.
