Villa Somma Apartments

The property was clean, spacious, well furnished and fitted out and had terrific views down into the bay of Napoli and Vesuvius. Great location as well, the town of Pimonte is small but with some excellent restaurants and very friendly locals. All major towns and hot spots are generally 1 hours drive by car at maximum. Pompeii is only a 20-30 minute drive. Roberto was a superb host, friendly, chatty, helpful and always available to ensure that you were well looked after.

Situated in a quiet place with a lovely view of the sea and mountains Vesuvius. Host is just a wonderful person and it makes all the difference when you are staying. Thank you for everything.

The apartment was spotless and had everything we wanted. The location and view was perfect for quiet relaxation after some busy days at Pompeii, Herculaneum and the Amalfi Coast. Roberto was charming and provided answers to all our questions. His hints, tips and general local advice were transformative, especially as we are not seasoned travellers. The garden, terrace and pool were all bonuses, and we tended to come back and barbecue with Vesuvius as a background , though on the final night we walked round the corner for an exceptional, outdoor Italian meal, overlooking the Bay of Naples.

During a road trip through Italy, we stayed at Villa Somma for 7 nights. Ideal location for exploring the Amalfi Coast and the region: we did a boat trip to Amalfi and Positano (with pick-up service at Villa Somma), Naples and Sorrento can be reached easily and cheap (3 €/ticket) by train from Castellamare di Stabia, the ruins of Pompei are a 15-minute drive away, and the host Roberto gave us a tip for a fantastic cooking class (with pick-up service at Villa Somma). The apartment has fantastic views of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius and is fully equipped (washing machine, air conditioning, bread service, towels, private parking). After a daytrip, it is wonderful to relax at the pool and in the garden of Villa Somma. The host Roberto is great: he was always available for questions, helped us very much with advising excursions and parking, was happy to reserve a restaurant for us (very good restaurants on walking distance); in short: we felt very welcome; 1 of the best experiences of hospitality in Italy for us. We will definitely come back! Grazie per tutto Roberto!

I loved the host, Roberto. He has so much knowledge of the area and made a lot of excellent recommendations of experiences we wanted to do and restaurants/coffee bars. He also was ready and willing to help us with anything, such an amazing host. The apartment was super clean and had a lot of amenities. It was a Home from Home.

We focused on Positano and Amalfi as the main areas to visit, which took us about an hour roughly to reach. We knew that in advance, though, and still decided Pimonte worked for us and our budget. So, no criticism, just be prepared to drive if you want to visit these areas when staying here.

Roberto (and Simba) did a fantastic job to make us feel comfortable, welcome, and he consistently went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time possible. The views were better than we dreamed of, and the location was perfect for exploring different areas of the peninsula.

Roberto is a super friendly, awesome host, the view is amazing, kids loved the pool and play areas. We were very comfortable even with the hot weather. A place to return to again and again. Thanks, Roberto!

As a family of 5 we had a wonderful time. We had the upstairs 3 bed apartment, which was very spacious and well equipped. Very comfy beds, good coffee machine and being able to order fresh bread daily via Roberto was a real bonus. The views from the apartment were spectular across the Bay of Naples towards Vesuvius. Roberto is an amazing host, very helpful with restaurant recommendations and bookings and just a really nice guy. Our kids loved Simba, Roberto's cat and the swimming pool 😁 This is a great base for touring the Amalfi coast, Naples and Pompeii. We would love to go back.
