"Poor value for money"

The location was close to the lakes and other places of interest

The double bed was really uncomfortable as it just sank right down and you could feel the springs in the mattress. Inside the window were not clean with thick visible dust . The carpet in the lounge area was rising up with it being ragged between the kitchen floor and and lounge area. The material on the table chairs were heavily stained.

"I know the property owner is going to respond, but I can only give my side of the story."

The house was clean, the location was good (a short drive from Cockermouth), the place was quiet and safe. The self-service check-in process was clear.

1. Electric Fault - Circuit breaker tripped within our first few hours. Being 3 grown adults, we did what we would do in our own homes. Switched it back on, tripped again. We tried to troubleshoot the source of the trip, but were not successful. At some point, the circuit breaker tripped immediately as it was switched back up. Communicated issue to the property owner, who offered some general advice, but we had actually already tried them all. We slept the first 2 nights WITHOUT HEATING, using MINIMAL LIGHTS, and PHONES UNCHARGED, etc (thankfully daylight was longer). Emma tried to get help for us on the third day (we weren't there, so we don't know what they checked), and the 3rd night was better. However, we were still cautious and used little electricity. 2. Refund - Property owner Emma suggested for us to request for a refund. I quote her message here: "Of course! We are more than happy to refund you. Please do this via the booking. Com app, you should be able to make a complaint due to the electric fault, and request a refund. We then oblige on our end and your card will be refunded via booking. com. Also customer services can then see our trail of messages and see the issue is not resolved." We initiated the refund, as per her suggestion, and Booking.com had replied to told us that after multiple attempts at contacting Emma, she had declined a refund. I would like to acknowledge that she was: - Mostly responsive via messages throughout the ordeal, regardless of the usefulness of her suggestions - Tried to get help for us on the third day (we weren't in, so not sure what they checked or fixed, if anything). However, tldr: - We had a highly uncomfortable 1st and 2nd night. - Property Owner did not process any refund, as offered and promised. She GHOSTED US ever since our check out even though I had reached out for clarifications. I cannot do anything else but write this review. I hope you all have a better experience.

"wonderful stay"

Located in a very nice and quiet holiday park where all the caravans were very well maintained and very quiet and well behaved people. The caravan itself was beautiful and very clean. Living room was very spacious. All amenities were given, including dish washing necessities. definitely more upgrade than the Haven holidays caravans. While there were no shops or restaurants in walking distance, its just 2 miles(2 mins drive) to cockermouth where you can get everything. 15-20 mins drive to whitehaven and maryport, and about 30 mins drive to keswick, so a good central base to explore that side. Hosts were wonderful too. Prompt communication, very clear and very friendly. Very good neighbor as well. We all slept really nicely there.

Mattresses aren't too bad but could be better.
