Close to the city centre

The apartment didn’t smell very good. Also the towels were stinky.

Perfectly clean, quiet, and comfy little apartment right in the heart of Budapest. Facilities are more than adequate: kitchen has all the basics, stove top, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee machine (yes!); washroom has power shower (awesome!); comfy lounge with sofa, coffee table, reading lamp, tv; and double bed on the mezzanine, also with reading chair and lamp. Property within view of the river, less than two minute's walk from one of the main bridges and public transport interchange (metro / tram / trolleybus / bus), so easy access to the whole city (buy a cheap day travelcard). Also the square at Kálvin Tér is about 5 minutes walk (or a short tram ride), where there are lots of cafés, and also where you can pick up the express bus 100E to the airport. What more could you want?

OK, it is not exotic or sumptuously furnished, but the price is excellent compared with many city centre apartments that are further from the river. And anyway, I wanted to spend my day out and about in the city, not sitting in front of the tv (I can do that at home). At the moment they are digging up the street outside, laying cobbles. A bit of a nuisance, but when it is done later this year (2023) it will be fabulous, and connects you to the rest of the pedestrian zone away from the river. Note that although this is a ground floor apartment, access via the courtyard does involve a several steps, it is not level access.

Really good location for exploring Budapest, about 2 mins walk from metro line 4 at the Central Market Hall and about 7 mins walk from Kalvin ter line 3 Metro. Lots of restaurants/bars locally as just off Vaci Utca, the main pedestrian street into the centre. Good value. Had a good range of facilities and was clean. Lovely shower!

Can't really think of anything we didn't like to be fair.
