Maneki Artieri Bologna

The location was great. The place was inexpensive but we would pay more to have a better place next time. I would not complain if the place had been what was advertised but it was not. But yes, the best thing was the location.

The listing states that you will be met when you arrive. We were not. We were sent to a restaurant to pick up keys and when we asked the girls who gave us the keys where it was, they had no idea. It wasn't at the Google maps location but we eventually found it. The instructions from the guy were pretty vague but again, we eventually found it. There are some small complaints about the place that I won't even mention but a couple big ones for us are that the listing says it has A/C. It doesn't. And it was hot. The guy also told me he'd let me know how to turn on the hot water the evening we arrived. He never did until right before we checked out. I guess that was ok because a cold shower actually felt nice because of no A/C. Bottom line, the mistake I made was looking for a cheap price (it was a one night stay until we flew out the next day) and ignoring the reviews. We could have paid just a little more and had a great stay. Also, I wouldn't complain about the place (I rarely leave any review if I can't leave 5 stars) if it was what it claimed to be.

- good for max. 1-2 nights - perfect location - windows to the backyard, so there are no noises from the street - easy key collection in the bar downstairs - good price

- the owner ask me to pay additional 15 euro (5euro x 3 people) - it would be nice to have on the booking reservation info that additional tourist tax fee is required - I've checked that in Bologna tourist tax is based on the accommodation price and for this booking it should be 3 euro per person. When I asked the owner for the explanation why the amount is higher, there were no answer (we left 10 euro in the apartment) - bad smell of the sewers - there is electric thermostat for hot water. We haven't received the instruction how to use it and I had to ask the owner about it. In fact we all had a cold shower in the night - apartment seems to be clear only on the first sight, in fact it is very dusty - the kitchen wasn't equipped

I would prefer cleaner white sheets and towels. Also the walls need repainting.

We stayed only one night, so it was ok for a short trip. If you plan to stay longer, the kitchen is not well equipped so it is impossible to cook. We paid additional 15 euros for tourists tax, which was never mentioned before.

The location was perfect. The host let us check in two hours earlier.

The pipes of the kitchen, 1 meter away from the bed, kept issuing a putrid strong smell during my stay. I avoided staying in the apartment as much as possible because of the smell. The bed linens are very old and scruffy. There is only one spoon and one fork, no more cutlery. The host left no instructions whatsoever on how to turn on the hot water, I showered with cold water the first day. There is a general feeling of neglect in the apartment. With a minimal investment from the owner this could be an outstanding stay.

Excellent position. Lift/elevator. The apartment is sweet, it is a studio apartment, everything is in one big room (not separate bedroom as Description states). Quiet/peaceful. Old characterful building.

A bad smell I think from the sink. I have let the host know so hopefully this will get sorted out. It was not the cleanest of places that I have stayed, and the kitchen is not really a kitchen, just a sink and a kettle. I think some crockery and cutlery had gone missing without the host knowing so again hopefully this will now be rectified. If you have any problems with the apartment, the host responds very quickly so I would say just to let him know if you have any problems. I arrived early and he was happy to let me checkin early which was nice.

The location is perfect, right next to piazza maggiore. The keys were easy to get and the owner responded quickly, we had no problems contacting him. Both the bed and the sofa bed were comfortable. Although the location is very central it was quiet at night in the building.

The cutlery in the kitchen was not cleaned super well and there were only 2 forks and 1 spoon. We didn't intend to cook or eat breakfast there but for more than 1 night stay it may bother some people.
