Milkwood Cabin Getaway

A horrible smell which emanated from the drain in the lower bedroom section into the lounge was a damper. If that can be sorted then it will be more pleasant.

Beautiful cottage in a wonderful setting. The bedrooms were lovely. The lounge area was a bit uncomfortable for 5 people. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. We enjoyed the gas braai and the fireplace.

The WiFi didn't work and the WiFi router etc is on the bedside table of one of the rooms. We struggled a bit during loadshedding as the loadshedding lights didn't work and there were no candles.

The view was beautiful, and you feel like you are in a jungle. Cabin was comfortable and neat 👌

Braai area covers were not clean, and there was no light in that area. There was no nice braaigrid as well .

View of the lagoon and peaceful surroundings. The kids could walk around safely. Anchen and her mom were great. She checked us in and was very helpful. Provided milk, coffee and a bag of braai wood.

The unit needs an update. The outdoor furniture is weathered and not like in the photos. There is no equipment provided at all to use at the rec center. No place to hire either. Anchen was kind enough to give us two of their canoes to use and offered their table tennis bats. The main bedroom definitely needs a new, proper mattress not old single beds wrapped with sponge and stuck in a sheet. It was awful. We left a day earlier because we could just not endure another sleepless night. The seating area in the lounge is badly planned and not enough space for all 5 of us to sit. The benches at the dining table are unstable. The bottom part of the staircase is loose! If these issues are corrected it will be a lovely place to holiday.

Property was okay and clean.

Staircase is wobbly, bottom section is loose. Main bedroom with 2 x single beds, the mattress is worn out already, with foam pushed in the sides of the base. Bedroom 3 with a single bed and fridge, mattress isn't comfortable at all. Pool area: ad says it's a private pool but it's a communal pool. Lounge area: chairs are very uncomfortable as well as the 6 seater used for the dining table. No canoeing facilities or equipment to hire.
