"Great location and parking"

Parking and location were great

Double bed was on the small size and the road noise was pretty bad.

Nice and clean

Awkward check in with codes. No bath. Flights of stairs.

"🚨🚨🚨 AVOID 🚨🚨🚨"

1.0

That it was close to the theatre

Absolutely disgusted with this hotel. From the moment I arrived, it was a complete shambles. They sent the wrong access code, leaving me delayed and stressed trying to get into the property. After travelling, that was the last thing I needed. When I finally got into the room, the standards were appalling. The toilet was filthy. The mattress protector had visible blood and urine stains on it — yes, blood and urine. Completely unacceptable and beyond disgusting. Basic hygiene clearly isn’t a priority here. The shower was a nightmare to use — extremely stiff to turn on, and the shower head leaked so badly it completely soaked the bathroom floor. On top of that, the drinks machine was out of order. It just felt like one issue after another. To make matters worse, they didn’t even have the decency to communicate with me directly. Instead, they hid behind Booking.com and refused to offer a full refund for what was genuinely one of the worst stays I’ve experienced. I paid over £60 for this. For that price, I expect basic cleanliness and functioning facilities — not stained bedding and soaked floors. Avoid at all costs.

"Shrewsbury with a few twists"

7.0

The location was great. My partner used to live in Shrewsbury and his parents are still there. We were the right side of town (and the Welsh Bridge) to go see them. The accommodation was also just at the bottom end of town, around 8 minutes walk from the train or bus station and 5 ish minutes to town, though be aware that is uphill. The local, area around Frankwell is nice, its fairly quiet, well kept and there are some nice restaurants, a couple of pubs, and two local cafes. The theatre is there. There is also a bookshop and interesting shops. It is right by the river. Found it easy to order an Uber and get around. Check in was easy, a code to the front door then a code to get the key from a locking box on the wall. The room itself was nice but there are a few niggles, which I will talk about below. The room was comfortable. We stayed in Room 1. Which was through two doors and up a set of carpeted stairs. The room was nicely decorated, the carpet were very plush and it had most of the things we needed. The bed in Room 1 is a double but they offer king sized beds too. The room had beams, which we both really liked. The main room had heating and it was cosy, you could adjust this, if needed. We had a cupboard big enough for probably two weeks worth of clothes, a desk, with mirror, bedside tables and a smart tv. It had nice lighting and plenty of plug sockets. It also has fast internet and some eternet sockets to connect a laptop via a cable. We also had a fridge, which is a brilliant addition and allowed us to keep fresh milk (and snacks) for an essential late night/morning cuppa. The important things! We had a kettle AND pod coffee maker. The shower was nice, a rain shower, good power, hot water with body wash, shampoo and towels provided. There is parking, at the back of the building, which I think you have to arrange on booking. Overall, and despite the niggles/suggestions I've highlighted, I would definitely consider staying here again.

When I messaged, to see if we could drop our bags off and check in later. I was informed, it was a self check in that they didn't have the facilities. I have stayed in a number of places, where it has been self check this provision was always factored in. A case locker unit, within this downstairs area would be helpful. How many people arrive to their destination at check in time and leave the city when checking out? People want to fully use/enjoy your first and last day. We had to change our plans to accommodate the accommodation! On departure, we ended up having to drag our luggage up to the hospital to visit very sick person. Not good. The reply I received of "Perhaps worth looking to see if there is any secure luggage storage in the town centre or near the train station?" Is an absurd/dismissive thing to say to a customer Regarding the accommodation Downstairs was odd, it was obviously once a club/bar. It just looked errie, its a bit like the Mary Celeste!! The room is huge, long, semi dark. It was a shock when we opened the door, it was an 'interesting' first impression. Especially the overflowing bins! The back window of room 1 overlooks the car park we had to keep the blinds down. Some voiles would help privacy. There was no sink plug, it was completely broken and missing. The sink hole looked filthy. The water pressure on the sink was a trickle. There was black mold on the tiles, the shower head, the cubicle. The bathroom light is on a movement switch meaning if you sit on the toilet for more than two minutes the light goes off. The bathroom as a whole felt cold. The left lamp needs attention it is very dim and the socket it is not full power (charging my phone very slowly) The place needed a good dust. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and dust on lamps. Overall the accommodation was good, but there are just a few little niggles that need the owners attention and some extra care in regard to customer service.

Location, quiet, parking

No chairs, admittedly the room is too small to have chairs, but there is an unnecessarily huge wardrobe, maybe the space could have been used better?
