Sólvellir Holiday Home

I liked the hot tube and the nature around it. It is really remote. My children loved playing with the owner's dog, who was super friendly. The garden equipments and outside patio in a sunny day is a really energy recharging place.

Amazing location, next to golden circle route. Good location to see the northern lights,too. Amazing view around and very spacious on the inside, with the most amazing dog as a host.

Location was wonderful. The set up inside, with the sleeper beds was perfect for us. We enjoyed relaxing with a holiday movie in the evenings.

There was no heat and no hot water!!!!!

We booked Solvellir Holiday Home after scrolling through the photos, but when we arrived, we found out our “holiday home” was actually a container unit. This wasn’t made clear when booking, and honestly, it’s a stretch to call this a “home.” There were multiple issues: the water pressure was nonexistent, so we couldn’t shower until the third day. Although the owner was friendly when we reached out, no solution or alternative was provided. The sheets had yellow stains, there were mouse droppings on the kitchen sink, and without proper ventilation, the unit stayed damp, making everything feel humid. The wooden front door was even swollen from the humidity. The heating was making a lot of noise, so we had to shut it off during the night. The Towels in the bathroom still had some stains on them. Also no cleaning products were present. For 783€, this was very disappointing and from our point of view, absolutely not worth the price.

Well equiped kitchen, great hot tub (and you can modify the heat), good location not far from interesting places, Overall cozy place with plenty space. Friendly dog with sticks that require throwing.

The automatic light outside is quite strong and can't be turned off (at least we didn't found how). It kinda breaks the atmosphere and you need to close the curtains, if you want to sleep in the main room.

Not to expensive. Nice nature around. Funny dude who runs the place!

Could have been easier to call but it sorted out in the end.

This house has everything we need. Kitchen is fully equipped, beds are comfortable and bathroom is clean. Hvammsvík hot spring is only 15min away. We love this place!

The views are spectacular! Loved Castro the dog and seeing horses be moved from field to field. Tidy property.

Clothes dryer would help to dry clothes. One bedroom with bunk and queen bed was very cramped. Badly needed black out curtains during solstice time.
