Black Honey

Black Honey is located in a beautiful spot in Ahangama, facing a paddy field in a quiet neighborhood that's still close to the main street. The location is incredibly convenient. The property offers a lovely pool that guests can use at any time, and it's especially peaceful at night when you might have it all to yourself. I was instantly impressed by the minimalist interior design, which creates a truly relaxing atmosphere. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. The operations manager, Savi, is friendly and flexible with check-in and check-out times. Overall, I would rate this place 10/10 - it's an perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a peaceful stay.

While everything was perfect, I have a few constructive recommendations. In the bathroom, there's an opening that allows mosquitoes to enter at night. Installing a steel mesh screen would help prevent these insects from coming inside. I noticed Black Honey has an in-house cafe, and I suggest considering offering breakfast to in-house guests. (I'm uncertain if this is currently an option during booking.) Additionally, the Google Maps location leads to the car park, but guests need to take a right turn onto a small road after passing the parking area to reach the cafe. A simple directional sign at this turning point would make it easier for guests to find the hotel

We completely enjoyed our stay at Black Honey. The room was super cute and clean and had a definetely necessary air condition. The bed was very comfortable. Also Black Honey Café offers nice food and especially the coffee was very delicious. All in all we've been happy with everything.

The location was amazing between the ricefields where you could see the buffalo's chilling. The rooms were amazing, very astatically pleasing. Breakfast was lovely as well.

Unfortunately, we couldn't use the facilities around the pool because they were redoing the garden. I would recommend mentioning this to the guests because it was one of the reasons we booked, so we could hang around the pool. Also, I would maybe include some sort of discount for the guests to have breakfast there. Or increase the room price and have the breakfast included. Besides, it is quite difficult getting around since the hotel is in the middle of nature. We had a phone number of a tuktuk driver, but if he wouldnt have been available it would have been way more difficult getting to the city center.

Beautiful place! Loved the room & the pool! If you're having a drink by the pool: go for the Hibiscus & Rosemary iced tea that's really good!!

We felt like the staff wasn't as organised it as friendly ad we had experienced throughout the rest of our journey. We rentes a scooter via the hotel... and we were a bit disappointed: maintenance light was in, no gas in the tank, felt like and old rusty scooter. We originally wanted to rent it for two ways, bit returned it after the first one as it felt a bit unsafe.

This is the first time I ever give anyone a bad review, sorry. I tried to speak to them and say that that wasn’t ok, but they also chose to ignore that. 1. No value for the money: the place charged as much as some high end hotels but had non of the facilities, check out was extremely limited leaving my parents stranded outside for half an hour, no safe, no reception to support. And many other needs weren’t met for the price 2. Not honest: booking cost was 150 usd and they charged us over 200

Super aesthetic and small boutique hotel with only 3 rooms. Great view, coffee and breakfast

Only downside is you have slightly more distance to the city, but on a scooter it only takes 6 min
