Fantastic location on the harbour, a quick and easy flat walk of about 10 minutes to whitby centre although we felt obliged to have a drink at the Green Dragon every time we passed it, which slowed us down but not in a bad way. Very easy to get keys. Lovely apartment, we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was and it was absolutely spotless. Communal areas, lifts etc also were spotless. Loved the secure gated carpark, my car stayed put in the locked car park from the moment we arrived until the moment we left 5 days later - it may have been nerve-wracking trying to get out of it if all the spaces were occupied but it was ok as there were only a couple of other cars in there. Very quiet area, great views from our 3rd floor windows & french doors of the Juliette balcony over the boat-yards, working harbour & steam trains. There were a pair of herons fishing off the slipway below our windows late at night which was lovely and a resident family of ducks. Very well equipped, warm and comfortable apartment. Sharp kitchen knives were a total result, generally they're useless in holiday lets. Everything worked exactly as it should. The host Sarah was extremely helpful and lovely to deal with, responding very rapidly. No noise transference from other apartments at all. Fab selection of teas and coffees etc -including decaffinated - was a nice and thoughtful touch. We thought that the tub of washing powder was really thoughtful too, we didn't need it but again, much appreciated. I've already recommended the apartment to friends. It was a really good price too, £446 for thursday to tuesday. We've been to the Goth festival several times and this stay was by far the most relaxing, no hassle with parking, no being woken up in the middle of the night by bin-raiding seagulls.

It was a shame we couldn't recycle but IT WASN'T THE HOST'S FAULT!! Apparently the vast majority of guests don't bother to sort the recycling out properly and the communal recycling is constantly getting contaminated with rubbish because people couldn't be bothered to sort it out.

The host gave me easy instructions to obtain the key. The location was ideal for us. The flat was clean and very comfortable with good facilities. The area was quiet and clean with lovely views.

When I was trying to book on the website I had to leave the site twice due to going through security with my bank and the price of the apartment stay went up by £25 in a few minutes so didn't get the bargain we had hoped. This was the only thing we didn't like!
