Sigiriya Rastha Hostel

Kostha is a great guy! I had a great stay, comfortable room, helped me plan activities and rent me a bike and the breakfast is amazing! Thanks for all the adventures! Hopefully I will return one day!

It's a very, very nice vibe there. The hostel is really small which makes it familiar. You definitely feel like you're somewhere else from the crowd in the jungle. The have hammocks to chill and also tables. He provides tea, coffee and breakfast for free, so it's really good. He can also give you many ideas about what you can do around there. They also have a baby cat (Jan 2024) which is the cutest cat I ever saw. She was sleeping on my lap for hours.

Best Hostel in Sri Lanka!

Cool little jungle hostel, super intimate with only four beds. Tasty breakfast and chill hangout area with a cool owner and lovely wife. The bed I slept in was comfortable too. It's a little far from the action and most food options, but being in the jungle is a really cool vibe

Such a great laid back place. The owner goes out of his way to make sure you're comfortable. He has built the whole place himself. At night, all you hear are forest sounds. It's a little off the beaten path, but well worth it. Delicious, simple breakfast included too. The hostel is only 3km from the entrance to Lion's Rock and not too far from the town too.

The guy that runs the hostel is very friendly and helpful, he offered to take me up the big rock for sunrise (for free) and also offered to take me to loads of other places for free, and even gave me a lift to Dambulla after I checked out to catch a bus to Negombo

The hostel is in the jungle of Sigiriya, and I appreciated that the personal, Diwa, proposed to take me to some places (Dambulla and Pirudangala) and took time to share about stories of Sigiriya, and Buddhism. However….

The room is not well isolated so the humidity in the room is super high, I had to through a tote bag full of moisture. The bathroom was very dirty, never cleaned despite I was here for 4 nights. With other girls we didn’t feel very safe because we were pushed to do things together (visiting places, partying and drinking alcohol), there were some lies we caught, and had inappropriate massage. Lastly to me the manager was not very responsible. He proposed nicely to take us his bike but I soon realized that he had drunk alcohol and smoke weed. On the day of my departure he didn’t wake up, I had to go to his house and wake him up at 11AM because he had a hangover. We were 4 to check out and were waiting, also for the breakfast as it is included in the price. The reason given to me was « it is rainy you really want to go? ». I really did not appreciate that until the end there was sort of « control » of my moves.

This place is soooo cute and unique, surrounded by nature and everything built by the owner. He will help you with anything you need during your stay and becomes a friend. The dorm is very small so great environment for meeting people. Loved my stay here!

It’s a place right in the nature that’s why I extended my stay in there and the owner is such a nice guy!

The place is truly beautiful for nature Lovers. Castho is building a small paradise slowly but surely. I recommend 100% this place. Breakfast was different every morning and of really good quality the whole family puts a lot of efforts to make the guests feel at home 🌞🙏
