The violent behavior of the the wife. I really thought a long time before writing this Review but the behavior was unacceptable and absoluty a no go (read the comment below). They put a lot of effort into this place and trying to create a beautiful hostel. But they need to fix their relationship in order not to affect the well being of the guests. Sorry Kosta but I cant forget the incident

The couple that hosted us were incredibly attentive, kind and generous. Great stay at an authentic hostel surrounded by nature.

All doesn’t matter compared to what happened

NOT A SAFE PLACE TO STAY!!! I am in my 30ies and slept in many hostels all over the world, but never had a as horrible experience as this one. At the moment there is only one dorm and it was four of us woman (all solo-traveling). The wife came in at night and screamed at us to get up and slapped one girl and threatened to kill her. Apparently that girl was out all night with the husband (the owner) doing dr**s. And she thought they also had s*x (they didn’t). That is the story I was told next morning, but to me it also doesn’t matter what happened exactly, fact is it is unacceptable to storm into a dorm in the middle of the night and scream at all of us making each single one to get up, slapping at one woman and threatening her in the middle of the jungle with wild elephants to kick her out and even kill her. I am not exaggerating and I have a very short video I took where you can hear her slam the door (unfortunately I cannot post it here, have a look at Google where I posted it). I feel sorry because I don’t want to ruin anyone’s business, but as long as the owner doesn’t take responsibility, this is not a safe place to stay at. He also cancelled all our reservations on Booking so we could not write a bad review there or warn somebody else not to go.

Location was more secluded, so it almost felt like camping in nature.

The beds in the room were damp and wet towels/clothes didn't fully dry. The last night I stayed here the wife of the owner stormed into the room and woke us all up and was verbally and physically violent with another female guest. The owner afterwards tried to cancel my booking to prevent me from writing this review. Needless to say, I didn't feel safe the last night and morning of my stay.

Costa was one of the best hosts ever! A rustic tucked away little space in Sigiriya. Costa took us to some amazing hidden spots and helped us through booking a scooty and getting everything sorted. Loved our stay here. Super cheap laundry too!

Loved the nature and being away from traffic. The host was very helpful and was always looking out for people. The food was good and fruit juices were amazing!
