Casa Kalmar

I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Zipolite. Its close enough to the chaos where you can access it in a short 10 minute walk but also far enough where you can unplug if needed.

This beautiful small hotel has everything you need for a relaxing stay. It was our first time in Mexico and we couldn’t have picked a better place to visit the Oaxaca coast for the first time. Everything is to a very high standard, from the rooms to the pool area to the delicious breakfasts, the staff are incredibly friendly. The view is epic and it is a short walk down in to town.

Stunning location overlooking Zipolite beach. Short walk down to beach and town. Rooms were very comfortable and staff were super friendly. Breakfast was included and very tasty - fresh fruit, juice and daily Mexican breakfast or choice of eggs

Everything was great! Both the location and the staff were amazing. The breakfast was delicious and the views were spectacular. We had the upper room, where it's like a little apartment- with a kitchen, 2 rooms, and big showers. We enjoyed the fact it was off the main beach, but take into consideration it is a 5-7 min walk up the hill, for us it was definitely worth it!

Lovely view perched atop a hill with a continual breeze during the day, great pool, yummy breakfast, really enjoyed the top floor suite. Sylvia is an excellent host. Out of the fray. Accessible to remote beaches further south of Puerto Angel.

Zipolite was a little more clubby / beach party vibes than we were expecting, although it was quite quiet midweek when we visited in late April. Casa Kalmar is set apart from the main beach though so we appreciated being farther from club vibes and didn't mind the walk up the stairs at all. Kalmar was a lovely retreat with a great breeze and wide views, but for the quiet couple we are, we would probably choose less of a party vibe beach if we had to do it again. The cost of the suite seemed a bit high to us compared to some other lodging during our trip.

A beautiful spot with incredible views. Charming and beautiful with just the right amount of attention. A real feeling of being at home with attentive and lovely host Silvia. We loved it for one night. Paired back and very comfortable. Close to the beach and everything you need.

A slight walk up from the beach but makes you appreciate the breakfast even more.
